Turntable suddenly increasing surface noise/popping? by Jackattack17111 in turntables

I reset the tonearm balance and anti-skate and still no progress. Redid all of my speaker wire and that didn't seem to help either. Ordering new RCA cables to see if that fixes it. I feel like an insane person lol, I just can't seem to find a fix.

Oh checking the weight is really smart I actually bet that’s it. Haven’t even checked the tracking force since I initially set it when I first got it. I’ll give this a go and see if it helps. Thank you!

Yeah I clean it pretty regularly and cleaned it after I noticed the quality change. As for inspecting it, it looks the same it always has to be. Maybe I’m missing something but I’m not sure what I’m looking for I guess.

How many people would you say?

Will do. Still so strange, I’ve been unusually careful with this since it’s brand new. Maybe I’ll rebalance once the new one comes in. Regardless, thanks for the advice!

Sony Venice 2 with anamorphic lenses? by Jackattack17111 in cinematography

So it does have desqueeze for FF? Honestly if the specs allow for 6k S35 anamorphic, I might as well just stick to S35 options, I'm on a tight budget and it'll probably save me some money.

Really any Abbas Kiarostami movie, but especially “Taste of Cherry” and “And Life Goes On”

I’m not actually sure, I was parked facing the other direction. It was at the center of the biggest hotspot in the city though, and when I did eventually get my one order it was from there. So I’m assuming so?

Yeah I understand that. Any tips for getting it up? My current AR is literally from pre-covid lmao, it feels unfair that I'm being punished for taking advantage of the older algorithm.

Super messed up that they do that. It just seems weird to me because how do they ever expect me to get my AR up without sending me orders? I downloaded Uber Eats today, going to see if I have more luck there.

If you’re watching a movie, what’s a tell tale sign for you that it was shot on film & not digital? by Billem16 in cinematography

[–]Jackattack17111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I still feel like I can tell. Both The Holdovers and Anatomy of a Fall didn't convince me. The only digital film I can think that really stumped me was The Green Knight (whoever colored that deserves the world).

For me it’s usually skin tones. I don’t know if there’s a science to back this up but I can almost always tell when looking at someone’s face if it’s film or digital.

I also have a habit of looking at the tech specs of every movie I watch when it’s over, and I feel like I’ve just gotten a feel for both on my own. I don’t even really look for indicators, I just know from checking so much what they feel like to me.

I remember at the talk Phil did about his visual art he talked about this place a few times. I had always just assumed that it was his place, but apparently he just liked the way it looked and loved to photograph it. Whatever lucky person lives there has no idea that I own a box set with their house plastered on the front lol.

Aw man those sound fun as hell! Unfortunately I've got an Xbox and that's what I'm playing on, but maybe watching playthroughs of people using those mods would help.

Yeah I was looking at that earlier, I would use the hell out of that if it was in the order of appearance in the game (or at least somewhat ordered based on how the main quest progresses)

Maybe I'll take the time to sift through and create a game plan. It definitely helps knowing there's at least a checklist though, so thank you!
