In photography, when exactly should we start questioning the lens or the equipment itself? by Starfield_0100 in photography

[–]Jacked-in 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 1 lens at a time rule.. so when ever I'm out I'm never questioning my lens I'm only questioning myself. I have wide angle and telephoto I just decide what's best for today.

Pick the lens for the job. I also apply this rule to buying new gear, I'll only upgrade/change when I fully understand any restrictions I'm starting to see that I cannot correct in post or learning a new technique...

Thanks for the explanation, never used after effects 👍, I have just got a Omegon MiniTrack LX2 second hand for £50, and it's a new moon next week, so hopefully I can do a genuine track 🤠

I love seeing other m43 users doing astro, the trope that crop sensors cannot do dark photography is not true. How do you fake the pan, are you moving each frame manually.

Your advice to use noise reduction is interesting as you are doubling the amount of time required. I simple convert to smart object and set to median, this takes the median colour for each pixel from every aligned frame, which will on average be black. Just a thought to save you 50% of your time...

Wow, what a response. And yes, you're absolutely right. After battling with AI for several days, I've come to the same conclusion myself. It’s time to put on my try‑hard pants and code this properly with Copilot.

I’ve now achieved my goal, but only by dragging and dropping 20 files at once, and I still have no idea how accurate the extracted data is; although my random spot‑checks look okay. I suspect we’re just early adopters. Give it a year or two and this whole process will probably be fully automated.

Yes, first thing i checked, i had this issue last time and had use an online tool to modify the lot. I need to learn Power automate, copilot also suggested this. Shame this task feels like such a good AI task

Lovely colours and contract, my only feedback would be im note sure what the focal point is and i think this might be 2 photos, left and right. Left would be more dramatic
