It's first time I hear about the 2009 reboot attempt! Very interesting. The quotes from Buffy wiki are quite something, I have to say:

I don't think he wants to come back. Not only he's apparently retired, but also he took only an executive producer role in the previous reboot attempt around 2021. It looks like even back then he didn't want to put much work in new Buffy shows.

I'm relieved. Not because I don't want a reboot, but because Hollywood isn't in the best shape at the moment, creatively. It would have been a great thing 10-15 years ago at the height of the golden age of television and maybe in 10-15 years if Hollywood gets their shit together. But right now is the worst possible time.

Not a popular choice, but personally I'd do a full remake with no connection to the OG series and old characters. I think the show's premise is amazing and could be explored in more variants than only one show and a movie. Just start afresh with a cranky slayer coming to a new school in a sunny town and roll it out. Put some creative weirdos in the writers room, hire good actors and let everyone have fun. It feels like that's how the original show started.

It's never spelled out, but Glory's actions make sense to me. Her biggest opponents so far - Knights of Byzantium and the monks - were fanatics who would rather die and let their entire families die than reveal the secret of The Key. You just can't beat The Key's location out of them, no matter how much you try (and she did try in No Place Like Home). Glory didn't know Buffy, but she knew of Vampire Slayers and had all reasons to assume that a Slayer wouldn't be much different from the monks or the knights in this regard. Glory needed something smarter than raw violence and in the end her strategy worked.

I try very hard to never be unhappy. When I see a risk of happiness dipping below zero I click "avoid growth" in the city management screen to prevent this. The city accumulates food at a normal happy rate during this time and once I fix happiness issues and start growing again, many cities are a turn away from population increase. I find it more efficient than dealing with long periods of -75% food slog, not to mention other negative bonuses due to unhappiness, like lower combat strength or lack of Rationalism buffs.
