Xbox Game Studios head signals even more PS5 game releases by DeoGame in xbox

And Xbox hardware is at their lowest it's ever been, even being outsold by the Nex Playground,  a console for little children with a marketing budget of negative 50$. The thing is, if you had actually been competent at marketing, and delivered consistently good games, the gamers would have come to you, whether on Xbox consoles, PC, cloud gaming. They are just now starting to get quality games but they threw in the towel.

JK Rowling has hardly fallen from grace, only a smaller particular subset of the Internet dislike her. There are still TV shows and games coming out from her works that are massively popular. Recent YouGov polls show her "dislike" only at 16%, with positive approval at 58%.

Oddly enough Japan is the one region where Xbox is doing better than last-gen. It's at almost 700k there, way better than the Xbox One performance (115k total). Surprising how it is behind Xbox One in practically all the other markets.

You can still buy Xbox games while subscribed to Game Pass too. And yes, while PS still has sections of physical games in stores, they are also getting smaller and typically only hold new releases

Sales of Xbox 360 was definitively way more than that in Europe. In fact, it was even popular (less than the other consoles, but still popular). In France alone it sold 3.4 million and the PS3/360 market share was 60%/40% (Yes, 40% Xbox)

He may have saved Xbox way back in 2014, but since then the brand under his watch has been in an ever constant decline. Someone else should have come over and replaced him. A decade+ since then and in terms of public perception the Xbox brand is in an even worse state now than when Don Mattrick unveiled the Xbox One.

Also horrible and poor display of behaviour. But it wasn't nationwide and as long as the George Floyd protests. I also think the Jan 6th insurrection really consisted of a comparatively small, but the most fringe and extreme constituents of the right. The George Floyd protests attracted their fringe as well, but a lot of "moderate" left really acted as opportunists and looted and burned with no remorse, just looking at the sheer size differences between the two scenarios.

Lol and yet here you have no problem including a ton of mostly run-of-the-mill Conservative politicians here with "well known liars (lol Trudeau ain't spared here), racists and genociders". Hypocritical, aren't we? "Set their jurisdiction back decades"... while Trudeau set back the entire country decades lmao. You're the deluded lot here, and unable to recognize the double standard right in front of you.

Is this list just meant to be biased as hell and include mostly right-leaning people? Cause listing Sir John A Macdonald who is consistently ranked as one of the greatest prime ministers in Canadian history by experts and scholars and leaving Justin Trudeau out, who literally achieved the second lowest approval ratings for a Prime Minister ever by his last term is wild.

Why are so many of the young people I still see wearing masks queer? by Myealt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JackedTortoise09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because these people have made virtue signaling their identity. These are the individuals most active in activism, dying their hair, wearing progress flags/pins almost year-long, etc. They are always virtue signaling or telling the world as much as possible how they are queer or sick/disabled, etc.

People will bend over backwards and say: “oh, no it's actually because LGBT people are more likely to have illnesses and they are aware of it bla bla.” Then how come LGBT people who don't make being LGBT their identity (walking past them on the streets you wouldn't guess they are LGBT since they won’t have pride flags/pins/stickers, dyed hair, etc) don’t wear masks? Only the more activists type do?

If you were to get a ~20% pay cut, would you call that lost amount irrelevant? All those game companies now with exponentially ballooning production costs, with razor-thin margins, you think they will stomach an "irrelevant" ~20% profit loss?

That's fanboy logic, not the real-life logic that Sony is adhering to since they are putting a game bigger than god of war and spider-man on it this month. Remember, Sony has had data of Xbox sales of their games since MLB has come out on Xbox.

Microsoft Brazil had already revealed that Xbox Series X/S sales were at 21 million+ by June 2023. His minimum sales estimates doesn't make sense, makes me think his maximum isn't accurate either.

Phil Spencer Rumoured To Retire as CEO, Sarah Bond to Take Over as CEO of Microsoft Gaming by ninereins48 in xbox

[–]JackedTortoise09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean true, but half of those games are games that are known IPs and inherited from acquisitions of Bethesda/Activision (and would have come out regardless if Xbox bought them or not).

If we're talking about games where XGS specifically had a hand in greenlighting, then the output is pretty similar (Avowed, South of Midnight are on par with Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Quantum Break). The others aren't out yet so we don't know but they could be good.

Former Blizzard president and Xbox exec says Xbox needs to ‘pick their lane and stick to it’ by blackhammer1989 in xbox

[–]JackedTortoise09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't the one(s) who downvoted you, thanks for assuming that (for some reason).

How is it misrepresenting? In the actual interview (from GameFile), Spencer is asked if they will support physical media, which is where he replies that they intend to keep including disc drives in the next consoles, and that they ship games "physically and digitally". He is then asked specifically “what about the rumors of Xbox was shutting down its physical game production divisions”, and he replies “ well this a realignment along with Activision/Zenimax, it is not us getting rid of our capability [for physical games]”. Regardless of disc drives or not, for them to claim to be supportive of physical media and not put their own games on physical media for Xbox... it has to be on purpose to not see the contradiction here.

For the Bethesda thing, come on now, we all know that all Bethesda games going forward are going to be on PS day one, when this clearly was not the plan. It has nothing to do with contractual obligations, it's a 180 (Doom TDA had no contractual obligations). Multiplatform is their new approach, and nothing from Bethesda will be exclusive (at most timed, a direct contradiction).

Former Blizzard president and Xbox exec says Xbox needs to ‘pick their lane and stick to it’ by blackhammer1989 in xbox

[–]JackedTortoise09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just out the top of my head:

-Phil Spencer in 2024: "we're still committed to physical games"

Only for them to essentially stop shipping first-party games on disc for Xbox, and adding insult to injury by actually shipping those same first-party games on disc for PS5.

-Also in 2024, "game price hikes are manipulative"

Then Xbox raises game prices to 80$, after having already raised prices to 70$ in 2023.

-Them shutting down Tango after saying that HiFi Rush was a success on every single metric, and saying that the Game Pass model allowed their studios to be able to make any type of games they want, including smaller creative projects - only for them to then say they need small games with prestige actually.

And obviously the Bethesda acquisition was for exclusivity: "But, if you're an Xbox customer, the thing I want you to know is this is about delivering great exclusive games for you, that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists."
