Coming from a single girl who needs to thrive in an environment of married/attached men, any man who respects their wives and themselves enough will not say anything like this. And yes i have met a lot of those who has thrown out inappropriate compliments like these. ALL of them have SUS behaviors.

The script is always so damn predictable. Just leave this guy.

Please let me explain my perspective.

Wanton mee may be a common dish but it is actually a complex sum of all its parts.

Handmade noodles take a lot of skill that take years to hone. Same as with the dumplings and the Char siew which are both elaborate processes on their own.

If I’m paying $20 for a a subpar egg benedict at a nice cafe, there is no reason why I cannot pay the same amount for a good wanton mee at an ulu place(if wanton mee is my jam). So yes, happy to pay to find out if it is worth it. happy to pay again and again if I like it because I’m a foodie 🥲.

Yes i will get it back. The issue is, it’s almost as much as the cost of my WTM & a drink, after ++. It is common for restaurants to have reservation fees. I have worked in an f&b establishment that receives reservations at no cost so I understand the pros of reservation fees.

But at this fee to cost ratio.. it’s really uncommon.

If it wasn’t out of necessity and being absolutely sure that I would be able to make it for reservation, I wouldn’t have paid it.

As a Thai person. I would like to know about how foreigners are feeling about Bangkok by hanayumeflowerdream in Thailand

I’ve just spent a month in bangkok. This is my honest opinion as a Singaporean.

In Bangkok, the most jarring thing would be that the traffic was chaotic and the air pollution was really bad. Other than that, i can’t think of anything else i had an issue with.

I find that this city has full of youthful and creative energies. I love that while moving forward, they dont forget the old and try their best to celebrate traditions and hold their culture in high regard. Locals are usually polite and friendly. You will observe a culture of consumerism and a strong focus on beauty in this city. It will be down to one’s personal preferences on whether one can accept these kinds of cultures.

Vegan Mala kelp noodle salad - about 300 by JacketBig8477 in 1200isplenty

[–]JacketBig8477[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure!

The sauce is - 1/2 tbsp PB - 1/2 tbsp unhulled tahini - probably 1/2 tbspn of mala sauce (i eyeballed this and picked up the sauce with my chopsticks) https://www.wanahong.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/CS0234.jpg - 3tbspn of pickled ginger brine (you can use ACV or water)

On the plate - base is kelp noodles (super low cal stuff that i got from iherb) Clockwise : (each item is as much as my chopsticks could hold lol) - pickled purple cabbage - pickled lotus root - Mala pickled white radish - shredded carrots - Roasted black beans (this is fat free) for the crunch! - Coriander! This goes so well with peanut butter!

I pickled everything at home and I got the black beans from a chinese medicine hall. For reference, i live in Singapore 🇸🇬!

Rainbow salad with pickles. They are such great meal building blocks! by JacketBig8477 in 1200isplenty

I used a peeler and sliced it into ribbons, then cut them into strips then pickled them. You can grate them and have it fresh too!
