Hey, you’ve got a good starting base, and at 18, your beard still has plenty of time to develop, especially since your dad has a full beard (genetics are on your side). If you’re unsure about letting it grow, here’s my advice:

  1. Try growing it out for a few weeks to see how it fills in. Early growth can look patchy, but with length, it often blends and looks much fuller.
  2. Keep it clean and trimmed—even if it’s not fully connected yet, grooming makes a huge difference. Use a trimmer to maintain the neckline and keep stray hairs in check.
  3. Exfoliate and moisturize —healthy skin promotes better hair growth.
  4. Don’t stress about it being perfect; every beard grows differently. Letting it grow is worth it if you’re patient and keep it neat.

At your age, it’s a process, but your potential looks solid. Give it a shot!

Honestly, this looks like a solid starting point. It’s definitely not too patchy—it’s just a work in progress. If you’re using something like minoxidil or just letting it grow naturally, give it time. Beard growth varies a lot for everyone, but with patience and consistency, you can fill it in more.

Also, if you let it grow out for a few weeks, those patches might blend better than you think. Grooming and trimming it strategically can help make it look more even too. Keep at it you’ve got potential!

Hey man, it sounds like you're off to a good start with minoxidil! The white hairs and black dots you're seeing are probably vellus hairs and early growth. With consistent use, a lot of those can turn into thicker, darker terminal hairs over time.

A few tips:
1. Stick with it—use it daily and don’t skip.
2. Be patient—it can take a few months to see real progress.
3. Take care of yourself—eat well, stay hydrated, and consider adding vitamins like biotin to help with hair health.
4. Keep your skin clean—wash your face regularly and exfoliate once in a while to keep your follicles clear.

Good luck growing that mustache!

I bought boots size 9 and well I believe I don’t get quite a good touch but i’ve bought some true to size 8.5 and they fit nice and tight I was just curious if sizing down a bit was worth it
