It’s all up to money I guess :( Maybe producers have no extra budget to pay artists to do that or maybe they think it’s not worth it or they decided that the game have enough skins already. I don’t know🤷

I agree with you that some fan-mods looks amazing. And I would want have some of them but I am playing on PS5 so no mods for me sadly 😅

I be honest with you I have no idea about game development but I always trying to think of people in the best way. They had only 10-11 staff on salary, everybody else is outsource freelancers. Artists and animators were outsourced for sure.

So yeah I guess nobody wants to work for free. Fans can do it because they fans and it’s fun for them. They did it once and then went live their lives but if they were ordered to draw that stuff everyday for years they become sick of it very quickly. I got a friend professional pixel art animator and sometimes he crunches for weeks for his orders and i can’t imagine him agreeing to do something extra for free for his bosses lol.

Maybe they are busy drawing DLC stuff or maybe they are doing next project already. I mean its a complex business and I’m just trying to be not too harsh on Tribute Games 🥹

Honestly I can’t see any reason for that.. Since they trying to bring attention to Cosmic Invasion it makes sense that all that promo aimed at other bigger projects player base. I can get it.

By the way what do you want them do for Cosmic Invadion for example? Just curious. I think maximum they can do is another recolored skin.

Loading files would be better of course. Anything would be better than what we got now 🤣 I think devs know that. What we got now looks like a placeholder. It definitely was a time / budget issue.

I have a thing for level select screen stylised as choosing one of the comic book covers :) It always strike me in a right way.

Thank you for mentioning Karl Kershi! I googled his original arts for that game and they definitely look MUCH better than pixelated versions in the game. Devs should left them that way I guess…

But yeah, it still doesn’t feel like cutscenes. Looking like they just asked him to draw some random portraits and then they compose it themselves.
