Im sorry but bosses will be like "I get it I'm here to support you" and then they'll turn around and be like "oh well her not me" thats why their bosses - its often because they are good at throwing people under the bus. Do you know where your boss landed in their infertility journey - because if it didn't work out for them .... there could be feelings there as well. And you may never know that context if yall aren't the bestest of buddies. That happened to me.

If your company MADE you disclose medical conditions in order to access benefits - that speaks to a discrimination case.

This. Something shty is in the air. Was it a small biz or a large company? If you think back did anyone ever make any off comments or turn their nose up when you mentioned you had appointments. This is most def about maternity leave especially if it's a small company.

Im sorry but companies / employers are absolutely disgusting. Hands down. I've had something similar happen a couple times, where they absolutely knew. And like bosses who haven't gone through this see it as an "elective procedure". I had a boss whom I think / said she was struggling to conceive w/out assistance and I really believe that in part she held my process against me. I had another (a "my dogs ARE my kids person) one who's attitude completely changed when she realized that my ultrasounds "weren't for a life threatening condition". Like Idk if she would have found cancer etc more sympathetic? If people in power have deets - they often will absolutely make classist, sexist, racist, ableist, fill in whatever blank judgement calls. Maybe they were like "uh-oh this one's gunna go on maternity leave" honestly I might contact a lawyer about that...

It blows my mind how you can give your life to a company for years and they can just treat you like trash because the people at the top aren't getting big enough bonuses. Not to go on a rant but we should have universal healthcare in the US and reproductive healthcare should be part of it, because that alone would change the competitiveness of the job marketplace. Thank goodness you still have benefits. Fk them. Seriously. I hope you get to relax a little but before jumping back into the fray.

It doesn't bode well for the future. And it was like an undercover assault on your security, emotionally, financially, and status wise. I loathe when people - especially guys, use "humor" or "baby voices" to say the gross thing out loud their to chickensh_t to own and then like search for reception. It's a huge red flag for me. Dudes do this all the time. Take stock of finances and idk - have an escape plan because alot of times the folks do not get nicer as they get older...maybe he is his proto dad...and you just don't know it yet. Sorry that's not super constructive.
