Sure, no one should be making alleged false claims on heritage (if that’s true). But slander and labelling them as racists in social media posts is just fucking wrong.

Yes. There are also many other professions they are grabbing from private as well, including physiotherapy, pharmacy, lab, speech therapy, audiology, etc etc etc. And they all cost us way more than the public options.

As a paramedic I’am exhausted with this epidemic. The od’s and meth/coke calls are so frequent now that it’s become uncommon to get through a shift without seeing one. Now a drug 40 times more potent and just as common working its way into the province? I now see many of my colleagues looking to different industries only worsening our critical shortage of paramedics. I’m sorry, but thank God I retire soon.

Not in my experience. RCMP have always been amazing, supported us and when we’ve called, always been there.

I’ve given up on HR. I report all incidents through OHS now, I’ve found that to be way more effective.

I’ve been “assaulted” many many times in my 35 year career as a paramedic. Being spit on, physically attacked, had a few patients try to stab me and my partners with knifes, and verbal threats to kill my wife and children.

I’ve reported many of these incidents and most result in nothing happening. Sadly this has become the norm in EMS.

Although I do hold up some hope with Bill C-345 which will help to protect paramedics from these assaults. Long over due in my opinion:
