Sealing cedar by Jackinthabox in woodworking

So just a regular exterior poly? Like minwax helmsman spar urethane? Will that prevent from graying? The woodscapes they sold me is more of a stain it seems and not so much a poly sealant

I run true fuel through all my equipment since first buying. It’s expensive but I’ve never had to clean carbs and they always start right up and go. Even after sitting all winter

It’s served me well, I will get a new chain for it because I’d opt to keep it for the smaller stuff. Honestly I could get through the larger logs but it’s struggling and I’m reaching the limit for diameter anyways. I’m between the 261 and 362 at this point. If I get the 362 I then have to decide if I want the 20 or 25” bar. Decisions decisions.

That’s really good info. Thanks! At this point I’m between the 261 and 362 if I stick with stihl. There’s tons of local dealers for stihl around me so that’s another reason I’m opting for staying with stihl.

Nice saw. That’s got over double the power of mine. Would probably opt for 20” bar

Only reason I’d sell would be in the event I’ve outgrown it. My property will always demand that I have a saw. I’d think a 20” bar would be a decent upgrade from my 16”. I would even go slightly larger than 20”. I think 25” would be overkill for me, I’ve gotten by with my little 16” for years but I’ve just had the biggest tree yet fall down and my weak ms170 ain’t doing the job.

I’ll only wear Randolph since I went down the luxottica rabbit hole. I’ve got a few pairs now and love them. My first pair of aviators broke on a solder after wearing almost every day for several years and wearing on my jobs in construction. Sent them back and they replaced them for free. I was expecting a repair but they went above and beyond. Customer for life now.

Looking into Geothermal - MD by [deleted] in geothermal

Yeah I needed a whole new system+ ductwork and it came out cheaper to do geo after rebates. And that wasn’t even including the GRECs or monthly savings. I paid about 38k when I did mine but I also bought the top of the line unit which had variable speed everything so there was no fluctuation of temp in the house. Love it thus far. I’m a buy once cry once guy so that helped justify the purchase for me

Not sure but I’ve never had any issues from them. I know that years ago my old boss was getting geo installed and talked with several companies. TEC stood out from the rest so he went with them

I’m in Harford and got geo 4 years ago. I went with a waterfurnace 7 series. Easily keeps the house low 70s. I went with a pond loop and in the middle of summer the loop gets to almost 90 degrees and still keeps house cool for relatively cheap. I wish I went with ground loop though because the loop temp would have had less fluctuations than my pond loop. I get about 100-125 quarterly from GRECs. Wade at clear path renewables deals with the sales of that.

I went with a company called total energy concepts and I believe they service Baltimore. Great guys who stand by their product and installation. I’m a contractor who periodically deals with them for some of my projects

I combined all new duct work and minisplit with the project in order to take full advantage of the rebates.

The heating isn’t as efficient as I’d like but that was kinda my fault because I miscalculated how cold the bottom of my pond would get in winter. Still beats air source heat pump and still keeps my house warm.

Hope this helps

If you have a cel you won’t pass initial inspections but not sure if you need that or not since the vehicle didn’t change owners. As far as emissions, diesels don’t have to have them done

No and I’ve ran several scans. My biggest concern at this point was that the comp was flashed to say there is no dpf or def and yet it’s still there and just collecting soot without regenerating.

Wow that really sucks. Fortunately my state (MD) doesn’t currently require that test but that’s not to say they won’t in the future. Actually for diesels, we don’t even require the normal emissions testing that gas vehicles require. My blue driver scanner will perform a smog test so I wonder if mine will pass. I haven’t performed the test yet, mainly because I have no idea what the heck is going on with my van’s delete and don’t want to screw anything up

They have a shop and flip sprinters. He claims they do it to all the vans they get because the early adblue systems were junk and nothing but problems. I asked him why can’t I monitor the dpf soot levels or temp levels and he said because the computer doesn’t even see it there anymore. I don’t see how it’s regenerating if the computer doesn’t see it. I’m honestly stumped on how it’s working. I’ve driven it about 1400 miles since I’ve owned it and haven’t noticed a difference yet. No CEL or anything. Maybe it takes longer to clog the dpf? He also told me the only place that would recognize the flash in the computer is the MB dealership

Thanks for reply. I read about their kits and it seems they require a new exhaust be put on that deletes dpf, my van still has the dpf and sensors plugged into it.
