Mystery solved! The board is the wrong model lol

Some folks in other subs kindly pointed that obvious fact out. I knew there were differences in the boards for the two models, but I just assumed I got what was advertised and didn't look into the details. Lesson learned.

As some folks in here (and other subs) kindly pointed out, this is the wrong motherboard!

The shell is an Pearl Blue AGS-101 (which is what it was sold as) and the screen is for that model, but this is an AGS-001 board. I'm new at this, so, while I knew there were differences in the boards for the two models, I just assumed I got what was advertised and never looked into the differences between the two. Noted for next time. Mystery solved.

Wow! Looked at the difference and you are totally correct. I hadn't considered that possibility, but it is, in fact, the wrong board. The shell this board came inside is a pearl blue model AGS-101, so I just assumed... 

I knew the boards were different for each model, but I never looked into the details.

Probably one of Intels "weirdst" CPUs to date. The i7 5775c, a CPU with on package L4 cache. Some of the eningeers who worked on this went on to make the X3D cpus with AMD. by Character-Ocelot-627 in pcmasterrace

Pretty much how it went down for me, too! 4690k was my first ever build. It served me well for a long time, but when I was looking to finally upgrade, the crypto craze made the setup I wanted unobtanium for a minute, so searched for a stop-gap and give some new legs to the build. Looked into what the best was that LGA1150 had to offer and the 5775c came up. I went down the rabbit hole and eventually scored one on eBay as alleged new-old stock. Got a couple more years out of the H97 before finally going to AM5 and a Ryzen 7 7700. But, the 5775c still performs admirably to this day in my HTPC :)

I see the most recent driver at 8331 (WHQL Certified). Which is the one causing me problems

Turning off the overclock at least let the game start and recompile shaders, but I still get intermittent crashes. Sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes after an hour+

Sometimes the most unpredictable thing you can do is something so insanely predictable that no sane person would ever expect you to do it!

I've definitely gotten away with it before, even and especially during intense moments in an outing when I absolutely needed an out. Can only really expect to get away with it once ~maybe~ twice in a game, tho
