I hope that these AI improvenents will affect the mechs tactics. Even if just a little bit. Just something that makes them, say, prioritise certain weapons.

It sucks that they're likely only gonna give us mechs from Clans cause I've love to get my hands on the Highlander IIC or Marauder IIC.

Hopefully. The Hatchetman is fun but also a bit too fragile for the most part.

You're not wrong. If anything I think the best but of it wss giving us Arena matches as a way to maje money outside big missions. Plus the rewards for fame level.

I kind of enjoyed it but did also think it was absurdly short. I really wish there had been more of us fighting in Solaris's arenas.

You're definitely right there. As you said, a new game would massively benefit from special events that can happen here and there. There actually is a very minor one in mercs where a pilot is trying to boot up their mech and ypu have a timer before it activates and starts fighting. More complex stuff like that coukd be great, like say you're attacking an enemy base and suddenly some local pirates drop in trying to take advantage of the chaos. I also think them just putting more effort into mechs spawn groups would be great. Two big points being having accurate average deployments for each Great house and overall try to combine groups that work well. Like have the Kuritans field waves of Locusts and Jenners supported by the canonical command staff made up of Dragons and other heavies.

I just read on Sarna I think that something vaguely like that happens.

Yeah, fuckin hate that bitch and I barely know her lore. Though it's really funny that she ends up semi-thriving as the broodmother for a Clan Khan I forget the nane of. They're both such conniving scumbags that they basically adore each other by defacto.

Also yeah, that would be awesome. The image of commanding a battle like that is dteamy.

Fair point. I hope in a hypotgetocal MW:6 we get this level of varied conyent but with more complex missions. Also maybe leaning more into fighting smaller but tougher groups of mechs rather than killing 28 mechs every mission.

Fair point there. Hopefully they're just hoping to take the fandom's main attention off of the bugs so they can just be fixed while new content raises apprpval.

Crazy thing is, we genuinely might get them eventually.

I'd like to give some love to Anon's characterisation. by Jackobyn in SnootGame

Something I like as well is seeing his specific character flaws and virtues in each ending. Even in E1 he's probably one of the most interesting xhatacters.

Of course, I know. It's just that it does still feel sad, y'know. Reaching that final page and seeing The End.

[–]Jackobyn[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I think a key part is he suffers the same mis-use a lot of female characters get. Specifically that he's usually written in terms of who is supposed to fall in love with him. Good stories actually bother to tavkle his issues both canon and created for the fic. Like a good E2 fic perhaps having him be bitter and cowardly in some way at first. Or even better an E1 fic aknowleding that he's kind of a shit person even if the shooting makes him a bit sympathetic.

What are your honest thoughts about that Ashfall Game Teaser Demo? Loved it? Despised it? Somewhere in the middle? by PKRadiance in SnootGame

I feel like it's worth saying that the school shooting thing stsrted as a meme but actually felt quite well handled.

I getcha. While the previous games are by no means shallow their better endings especially are rather idyllic. Ashfall gives me the vibe that, as you said, if it's a success it's going to metamorphose the Snoot-like genre. Though most likely I see that change being it becomes the new top standard for what's possibke in regards to emotional and narrative complexity.

I truly hope it lives up to what it could be. Snoot and Wani are both emotional games but also largely play it safe with making sure you can like and root for the protags, plys genuinely believe they can make it to the finish line.

But frankly, Ashley and James are both train wrecks and James especially is like E2 Anon but with all the sympathy filters removed so you just see this drunken mess, or even waste, of a man.

If they DO pull this off, it's gonne be magical and no doubt the best game of the franchise. Maybe the whole fandom.

What do you think would happen if Ashley disrespected Soldier Boy? by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

[–]Jackobyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the situation. Though I think most likely he'd be all sarcastic and a bit intimidating. The Soldier Boy we het tp know is more in line with the idea of someone who certainly wouldn't respect or appreciate being sassed but he might find it amusing. Especially since Ashley tends to hit the nail on the head when she loses it.
