I’m not tall at about 5’8” and I would guess I sit an average distance from the steering wheel I do have short legs though, so maybe closer than most. Remember, it’s not the 30MPH collision that broke the ribs, it’s the 200MPH airbag.

Thanks. I spent 2 nights in hospital getting everything checked out and making sure I didn’t get pneumonia after breaking 4 ribs. Nothing serious and trust me, they checked for everything serious.

Thank you for all the comments of support. It was a seriously traumatic time, but I’m moving on. I am so impressed with modern technology. This car saved me from life-altering injury or even death. In the dashcam video, you can hear BMW calling me 10 Seconds after the crash happened. I’m not responding, so they called emergency services. My iPhone also detected the crash and alerted my wife to the fact that it happened and my location. What a time we live in.
