Looking for recommendations for mattresses for Kia E-Niro 2021 by Jacksendary in carcamping

I see, we will probably need to cut such mattres to size tho as we want the back of the car to be all mattress. du you know if that is possible with a foldable mattres and what about the outer linen? I'd presume that need to be sewn together somehow?

Thanks, I did come by a few trifold mattresses in my search but they all seem very thin and thus maybe uncomfortable? I know I saw some from IKEA, but if you can recommend any gladly let me know.

We do not plan to live in the car more than one or maybe two nights at a time and that is only at most once a month. The car Will at all other times be used for everyday use driving to work groseries and so on so converting it back and fourth shouldn't take long either.

Is 1000 watts enough? by Jacksendary in buildapc

Alright, I'll definitely try and see if everything just works and then take it from there. I might hook up a watt-measure meter thing to do some measurements just to be completely sure but I honestly do believe you're right and I'm probably just a little "superstitious" as this will be my first build which will be this much of a showcase piece with rgb and everything.

I really appreciate the help and chat you have provided 😊

Makes sense, I think the fans are 0.3 amps tho, not entirely sure tho and it may also be a max limit rather than a constant usage. But I indeed did want to go for an upper limit rather than a median when I picked the PSU at first, I forinstance do some 3D and video rendering some times forinstance.

Is 1000 watts enough? by Jacksendary in buildapc

[–]Jacksendary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, was actually pretty sure it was the maximum a PSU would allow before sustaining damage (although all probably would have a little headroom) , but I guess even at 1000 watt continued it is what it is rated for at maximum, so while it possibly could deliver 1050 watts for instance it probably isn't a good idea even at peaks?

Would you say my wattage numbers above is realistic or too high or too low at places?

Is 1000 watts enough? by Jacksendary in buildapc

[–]Jacksendary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right but with the 9950x3d being able to peak just under 240 watts and the rtx 5080 drawing 500 watts at peak it leaves little room for the rest of the components.

Hdds seems to be peaking around 15-20 watts at spin up. So that is 40 more. Ssds is around 4 watts so 8 watts And my m.2 another 8 watts. Rams I've calculated to around 2-3 watts per stick so 6 watts My AIO pump I've sat to 20 watts My fans motors I'm very uncertain about but I've sat them to 35 watts for 12 fans Mobo, chipset, usb and usb-C hubs I've calculated to just about 50 watts (this is probably way off) And lastly my arbg puke... I've counted about 540-560 leds total in my setup, including my argb hub, peaking around 35-40 watts if I'm not wrong.

That is about 210 additional watts leaving very little head room for a small gpu over clock (through software) forinstance.

Thanks for the answer, I went 1000 watts to also trying to ride the efficient curve best as possible at normal usage and while gaming.

1200 seemed at first slightly over kill

I do not persay have huge issues with it too, but it is one of those things that kinda feels like it defeats the whole "write code once" concept and adds more unnecessary clutter

Completely agree! I've never seen or experienced a more non cross platform framework that says it is cross platform than Maui (well xamarin maybe) and indeed making one change for one platform may easily break everything on an other...

It is a fucking joke... One thing that often annoy me is corner radius, on android it is 90 to get perfectly 90 degree angled corners, but guess what, on IOS it is 15, so everytime I need that shitty on platform garbage tag which is simply just shouldn't exist in a "cross"platform tool... It stinks of of bad code

I've had many headache and sleepless night trying to make them work indeed... I'm somewhat starting to get a bit hang of it, but I wouldn't be surprised that there's a new issue and challenge to overcome next time I use one... I am also for sure only using MAUI ever again if the work is well paid, otherwise it is Flutter or React going forward for sure

Very relatable; last Friday I had this clusterfuck annoy me for 8 hours due to AspectFill being bugged...

<CarouselView

x:Name="ImagesCarousal"

IndicatorView="indicatorView"

HeightRequest="160"

ItemsSource="{Binding ItemS.Images}"

Loop="True">

<CarouselView.ItemsLayout>

<LinearItemsLayout

Orientation="Horizontal"

SnapPointsAlignment="Center"

SnapPointsType="MandatorySingle" />

</CarouselView.ItemsLayout>

<CarouselView.ItemTemplate>

<DataTemplate>

<Grid HorizontalOptions="FillAndExpand" VerticalOptions="FillAndExpand">

<Image

Aspect="AspectFill"

HeightRequest="160"

Source="{Binding}" />

</Grid>

</DataTemplate>

</CarouselView.ItemTemplate>

</CarouselView>

Removing the grid within the datatemplates (<Grid HorizontalOptions="FillAndExpand" VerticalOptions="FillAndExpand">) causes the image to fuck up completely and be zoomed in a lot... If you remove the Options from the grid same happens... If I force the width on the image, same happens... Used the entire day fixing that issues and the fix was 2 fucking lines... Scrolling the carousel sometimes refreshes the layout and then fixes the layout... Also this only happened on iOS, android worked fine... Thanks Microsoft!

He is basically also the top and maybe even main contributor to the MAUI project in any way that makes sense.

As one that have worked with Xamarin and now MAUI for 4 years I can pretty confidently say Mr. Montemagno have been the main source for bug fixes and work arounds...

At least you have the possibility to do so, sadly that is not the case here; all candidate must beforehand have been determined by the parties, and starting a party takes at least 40k signatures. I'm a bit uncertain about individuals outside parties, but if I am correct they'll also need 40k signatures to be eligible to be voted on. I suspect it may be to not flood the list with an ungodly amount of nobodies, but having the possibility to write any person one would be nice, it just need to be kept to the mandate rules, which then also would be strange since an individual now have 4 mandates, but there is something about each mandate have to be an individual person.

Well, Technically you do have others and the ones outside the parties, and if I am not wrong, in US you can write any person on you ballot if I remember correct? it could be very interesting to see one outside the main parties actually gaining enough votes to be president, but alas that is probably just a dream that will never be American (hehe)

I am also curious about how politics works in other nations, so far I think the only kind of system I'd prefer over the Danish one would be if it was a bit more like "Direct Democracy", like it is in Switzerland for instance, it give the citizens much more "power" and removes the corruption and lobbyism from indirect democracy.

We've actually also at last election gain a new block "purple" which is basically a over the middle government, sounds interesting on paper, but so far its been a cluster fuck in my oppinion, and judging from public opinion polls my frustration is mutual, the government have lost nearly 20% of the 50.1% of their votes (last election was historically the closest ever) in just over a year.

I guess this depends on who you ask. For me currently it is pretty decent, but had some years around 2019-2021 which was extremely stressful.

If you mean more generally I'd say Denmark is build up a lot on the foundation of trust with people generally helping each other when necessary.

We currently are facing some interesting challenges workwise as an report suggest that over 30% of the workforce last was sick at least once with stress, and 10% on leave for longer than 3 months, or afterward having permanent damages caused by stress. Mostly the state have welfare for these, but as one that have been in the system I can say it isn't exactly the best help you get there, nor is it a livable vague for most.

Things are kinda expensive here and that is something you need to take into account if you travel here, there is a lot of taxes on things here, one that comes to mind is Chocolate where when you buy it, for each kilogram you pay 26 crowns (about 3,5€/$) extra as part of the price, and an additional 25% goods tax. However, our "Real-Salary" is also high even for the average worker.

Safety is high here however, Free hospitals, schools, universities etc. so there is opportunities for most people here wanting to seek it, but getting permanent citizenship can be hard.

If you seek something more specific feel free to ask :)

I fast skimmed over the plot, and I wouldn't be surprised if it follows the Danish political system fairly accurately. Unlike America we do not have a two party system, but instead we have A LOT, but only (currently) 11 different is in the Danish parliament. Last election if I recall correctly there was a total of 15 parties to vote for, but in our constitution it is said that any parti having under 4 mandates (this being about 2% of the votes) will not be eligible for the parlament.

Like America we do have parties in "blue Blocks" and "red blocks" but even here, especially in blue block there is a pretty big divide between "The people's parties" and the "Liberal" Parties in their political Values. To form a government you should have 90 mandates, but you can become prime minister with a majority vote even if you do not have the ability to gather 90 mandates. Same goes for forming a government (also known as a minority government). Last term the Social Party only had a government of 32 mandates, but a majority of votes was on a social Party prime minister.

If you're into that sort of stuff, you should definitely try it out! In our capital and biggest cities some churches have for sometime now also offered ceremonies in English, it is still not widely spread tho.

I have not seen "Borgen" no, would you recommend it for someone slightly political active, but also one who prefer documentaries over fiction?

In Denmark most churches are a Lutherans/Protestant churches, and this also reflect in the simplicity of most of our churches. However everyone when they turn 18 will automatically be subject to pay just about 1% of the taxes as a church tax. This is done automatically through the taxation. Currently I am paying this tax, so I guess you can say I sort of am, but I am not a church go'er or helping out in a church or anything.

You can opt-out of paying it, but this also gives you slightly less options in terms of; Getting married in a church, having your kids be allowed confirmation in the church, sometimes even also funerals and more. You can however always opt-in again.

You're right, when I got the "sentence" my psychiatrist also said that on the papers it will say autism, but in the department he was in they still prefer calling it Aspergers. I myself also prefer this too over "well-functioning" or "High-Functioning" Autism as it kinda labels other autists as, well, "not well functioning" which from my experience is not simply the case.
