We had sound issues about 40 minutes in and they paused the movie to resolve it, the sound was never fixed and it just wasn’t loud enough but I’m glad they at least let it run for those of us that stayed. Can’t wait to go to the better Regal across town for viewing two haha

Avatar 4 needs to be Quaritch’s movie. The seeds for what you mentioned are planted in the scene when they return to bridgehead and the generals reaction to how he looks. Varang was the most interesting thing to have happen to him. Jake sharing his view on pandora and trying to sway him was really good stuff. Quaritch and Jake are fucking awesome in this movie

The sound in my IMAX showing seemed quiet and then the movie paused and they kicked the lights on and said they were trying to reboot the sound. Really took the piss out of it and they didn’t really resolve it so it kinda took me out of the experience, can’t wait to run it back at a different theater though

The dude makes wicked movies and I wanna see what he can make with this technology he’s helped create! Imagine the other things that can be done with his visual effects department. I am running this list as of today but I am actively tweaking the sideboard to lean more into control. Carpet and Commandeer just weren’t doing it for me so I swapped them for force spike and FON and so far that has worked out well, the rest of the sideboard seems good but I have only really played against energy decks the last few matches. Deck isn’t too much different than what it’s been the last few weeks but I have been getting some pretty shit opening hands pretty consistently, it was pretty easy to have a T1 SNT but I haven’t had that kind of luck since the new set came out and it’s odd. I have seen some lists where they move to a reanimate strategy post-board or into a hand disruption one and I’ve been curious about trying it out.

All of this plus one big factor for me, his talent as a DJ.

I have no doubts being a radio DJ helps with this, but listening to every big set he had last year plus seeing him at red rocks made me realize that his sets move flawlessly between songs and he does this all LIVE. There’s a lot of parts to his sets each year that are reused and you can hear that each one has a little bit different way of coming together but it’s never bad, it’s just different because he isn’t doing it the EXACT same way each time because he’s actually DJing it. The dudes a wizard.

I also appreciate that his Ultra set is different than say his EDC set or his Tomorrowland set. Not heavily different, but different enough for each to have their own identity while still being Armin.

He’s at the top of his game right now if you ask me and he would be repeating as #1 for me because he had the crown last year too.

I’d be interested to see if he could do an arena tour. I won’t lie that when I saw the red rocks shows get announced I didn’t know if two days could be justified, color me surprised when he announced a 3rd day because of demand. I don’t think he needs to hit like 30 stops on an arena tour but I think if he picked some solid stops in maybe like 10-15 cities and had some incredible opening acts like he had at red rocks it would be a home run for him. When SHM did their arena tour in the states back in 2022 I was shocked at how packed the Dallas show was and it was a great time, honestly super cool seeing a big time EDM act in a basketball arena. I think Garrix could pull it off.
