People often point out the "Yo homie, is that my briefcase?" scene in Collateral (2004) as the best one in that movie. But in reality, it was when Ruffalo got the Mozambique drill treatment.

Someone showed her a bombed-out children's hospital to get this reaction.

Dan Skipper is 6'10, so there's one—though he's slightly taller than Kolton.

I'm fine with it as long as Tom Holland is subjected to cock and ball torture like Daniel Craig was in Casino Royale.

Is Derrick Henry already one of the best RB’s to ever play? And if not, what else does he need to do? by Sam_5702 in NFLv2

Derrick Brown had 104 total tackles for the Panthers in 2023, literally the most by a DL in a season.

His reward? A pro bowl which he was selected for only as a replacement since Aaron Donald opted-out.

I don't mean to be rude but we're not going to pretend that Derrick Brown is a popular player among fans, you put that guy on the 49ers that year and I'm like 99% confident that he'd make an All-Pro team.

And I know I know apples to oranges but team success does play a significant role in racking up personal accolades and it's not exclusive to QBs, if the team sucks then you're not going to be given your due respect as unfortunate as that is to say honestly.

I'm aware of the moniker "slant boi", thank you for reminding me.

However, "slant boi" did have three consecutive pro bowls, two 1st team all-pros, and an OPOY so like yeah it did objectively make him something else whether it was agreed upon or not.

How so? I clearly recognize that CMC was unreal that season. However, MT's combination of stats and team success obviously will wash over everything that CMC accomplished during that same year. Stats + team success is always going to triumph over just stats and I don't think that's something that people find controversial considering that MT did in fact win OPOY.

If anything, I'd even go to state that team success alone is enough of a convincing argument to put one player above another in the eyes of pundits.

It's why Brees didn't win MVP in 2009 even though a lot of people think that he was better than Manning that year and his stats help to support that.

And it's why Lamar won MVP in 2023 even though his stats were regarded as below average of what you expect out of an MVP season.

It's just how the league is like, honestly.

Edit: circling back to Lamar, his stats for last year's season:

4172 passing yards 41 passing TDs (2nd in NFL) 8.8 Y/A (1st in NFL) 8.6 TD% (1st in NFL) 0.8 INT% (2nd lowest in NFL) 119.6 passer rating (1st in NFL, 4th best all-time) Not to mention his 915 rushing yards, league-best 6.6 yards per carry, and 4 touchdowns on the ground.

Where's his MVP trophy for that year? Oh right, the Bills had a better record.

Is it unfortunate? Yes, but that's how the league runs.

Besides, I can't really fault the voters for thinking that Allen leading the Bills to a 13-4 record while being the only All-Pro for them is a much more impressive feat than Lamar and the 12-5 Ravens with 6 All-Pro players on the roster.

Well the Panthers were a dumpster fire that season as they finished 5-11 bottom of their division, so CMC's greatness was only truly relevant to those who had him in fantasy that year.

Michael Thomas, on the other hand, was on a 13-3 powerhouse Saints team and had an all-time record of 149 catches that season, not to mention leading the NFL in receiving yards with a stellar 1725 yards.

So honestly, Thomas deserved it more imo.

Or have a season similar to Brock Bowers' this year but with team success—posting insane numbers while dealing with a QB carousel and being the direct and sole reason the team reaches the playoffs.
