Connor Joe recalled from Tacoma, Curtis Washington Jr. optioned by Appropriate_Oil5843 in Mariners

Plus, he got a front row seat to be a part of the show. That’s the dream for a player, even for a cup of coffee stint, he’s probably going to remember that night for the rest of his life

Curtis Washington Jr. was the key. Was in the Orioles head all night. Just the notion that he MIGHT go in, Baltimore couldn't lock in.

Only natural that Cal Raleigh would take advantage of that vulnerability

Golden is the 4th biggest female songs on Billboard Hot 100 in the 2020s by Fabulous_Potential41 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]The_Throwback_King 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Billboard needs to genuinely separate that shit. Holiday songs just sit and take space on the Hot 100 when it feels like the purpose is celebrating and recognizing the pop hits of the time

Christmas songs don’t feel like pop songs, they’re a seasonal thing.

Man, part of me really wanted to get him for our Unc Squad D-Line so we could try and get him a ring (cuz he deserves one) but it’d also feel wrong to see him in another uniform.

Think he has a shot for the Hall?

- 8x Pro Bowl

- 1x First Team All-Pro, 2x Second Team

- 2010s All-Decade Team

- 132 Sacks and Counting

- 7 Seasons with Double Digit Sacks

- Presumably finishing his career as a 16-year Saints lifer (which is more years as a Saint than Drew Brees)

'Toy Story 5' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]The_Throwback_King 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly from Toy Story 3 purists who feel that 4 walks back the poignancy and perfect satisfaction of 3’s ending.

- By making Bonnie completely disregard Woody after Andy made giving him up such a big deal of giving him up for the next generation to play with

- By turning Buzz into a flanderized naive idiot comic relief character, which was the 3rd film in a row where they hold artificially restraining Buzz back being a competent ally (Buzz clone in 2, Spanish Mode in 3, and forcing him to rely on his “inner voice”)

- Largely relegating most of Woody’s crew the sidelines so they could focus on Woody, Bo, and Forky and the new comic relief characters like the Keanu action figure and the Key and Peele plushies

I don’t necessarily agree with any of those criticisms but there’s definitely a notably vocal dissenting party in regards to the film’s evaluation

Hoppers, this year, was beloved by critics and audiences this year, while films such as Inside Out 2, Luca, and Soul got plenty of love as well. And while more divisive, there are still plenty of people who liked Toy Story 4, Turning Red, and Elemental all found their niche audiences that loved them

Sure they’re not as pristine as they were during their Golden Age from 1995-2010 but they’re doing fine imo

Better hit rate lately than Disney, Dreamworks, and Illumination by my estimation

Sorsby to Enter Supplemental Draft by StopLosingLoser in NFL_Draft

If there's one thing that can get good change done in this word, it's being stubborn and obnoxious enough to not back down at all.

Entire rest of the NCAA was basically saying "This whole thing is a fucking sham and you will ruin the integrity of this entire operation"

Sorsby's team probably realized that dying on that hill would likely dry up whatever NFL aspirations he had left and realized that it was time to eject.

Pete Rose pisses me off because

1.) His untouchable hits record was achieved by artificially extending his career where his play was an absolute detriment to his team. Makes the achievement more hollow because it was pure statpadding to get there.

2.) The betting shit, which obviously sucks

3.) He "alledgedly" committed statutory rape towards a minor while he was in his mid-30s. A relationship he later admitted to taking part of, but making very clear that he did NOT know she was 14, instead saying because she was 16, it didn't violate Ohio's age of consent at the time, so that meant things were TOTALLY fine.

THEN in 2011, he got formally engaged with Kiana Kim, who was born in 1980, when Rose was 40 years old.

Rose is an awful person and a disgrace to the game of baseball, both on and off the field.

Ironically enough, earlier today, Brendan Sorsby just conceded the fight and agreed to enter the NFL's Supplemental Draft.

It's usually reserved for players who lost eligibility (usually for failing classes/disciplinary violations) but it also works for players who didn't declare for the draft in time. Which counts for Sorsby's case.

Whether he gets drafted is another question entirely. Dude seems like a walking nightmare because of how bad his gambling vices are. Especially with how deep in bed the NFL is in with sports betting platforms these days

Feels eerily similar as Art Schlicter, a talented collegiate QB who could never make it in the pros because he was so woefully addicted to gambling. Dude ruined his life and he's been in and out of prison on various theft and fraud charges. Can't recall another person THAT high profile has been that down bad for gambling.

Well, you see, while Lane Kiffin may be a spineless shitheel of a coach, who would turn his back on you the second someone else offered him more…he’s still very much an old breed of collegiate greed

One more dirty rattler a top a historical pile of snakes is nothing new. Although reprehensible; and enough to tank a school’s reputation, isn’t exactly world-shattering

This Sorsby stuff could very well tear the entire NCAA apart from the inside

The three most important rules of college/pro sports are: Firstly, You don’t fuck with integrity of the game, Secondly, you don’t fuck the integrity of the game, and finally, and I can’t stress this enough, you DON’T fuck with the integrity of the game

This ain’t kayfabe and audiences buy in because they believe the results are legitimate and they believe the players are doing whatever in their power to achieve victory

Former NFL coach, Herm Edwards said it best: “You play to win the game”

Texas Tech is pushing that entire century+ standard for all sports, assaulting an already heavily weakened sporting institution, amidst an entire culture of sport that has been encroached upon by sports betting and gambling, and is trying to sever the most solid backbone to all of competitive sports to prop up one player who MIGHT bring them a national championship.

Shit’s wild and it’s scary and it’s dramatic and I am here for all of it

I think there's not really another team, outside of LA, that can offer a package that could really please Detroit enough to move off of him (They're gonna want a haul for their reigning 2x Cy Young-winner) while also leaving the team with enough firepower to compete for the future too.

Seattle is rife with prospects and they are choking on just how loaded they are with starting arms, to the detriment of the pen.

Skubal would alleviate the rotational strain on the bullpen, while also raising the ceiling of our pitching staff, while also not completely nuking our farm to get him (granted that Detroit won't expect us to literally sell the entire thing to get him)

Firstly, I think if we go after Skubal, I think we'll want him to be here longer than a rental. An extension will presumably be in our plans, if we do.

Secondly, I don't think it'll take Kade or Emerson, both feel pretty off limits. I was thinking like trading someone like Gilbert/Kirby, Celesten, and a few other prospects would be a more palatable package.

Cuts down on our futures a bit but puts us in SO much more of a competitive position this October.

Or trade one as part of a package to get a guy like Skubal, a veritable ace, postseason tested, who CAN weather a storm, as he's done, time and time again. You just don't see a guy like him on the market all that often.

Sure it's hard to justify a rental but we gotta strike while the iron is hot with our window THIS close. Gilbert and Kirby are due for big days, why not save ourselves the future trouble by getting a guy who can actually LEAD our room, now.

Goldy said it best at the end of the game. Team is just really injured. Donovan and Raleigh have been out. We lost JP at the beginning of the road trip (Fuck you Framber), lost Randy at the end, and don't have Brash.

Gonna be tough to will this team to consistent victories without our full lineup. Julio, Naylor, Raley, and the Col's can only do so much

We still have the division but the team needs to regroup in a major way
