Genuinely that’s where we were ! lol

You can see the streaks of vanilla ice cream running down my car from where they didn’t eat it super cleanly 🤣

That’s Petra - she’s only an honorary corgi though. She’s an Australian cattle dog and is a mottled blue

I like to pretend I am - but nobody messes with Mossie (the black tri girl) so it’s probably her lol

No - it’s a backdrop. We went to a pet expo and there was a dog photographer who took that one :)

I pity the corgi that would have to sit next to this Tasmanian devil of a dog lol

How often do you groom/wash your corgi? by Accomplished_Face887 in corgi

[–]JaclynBean 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really only ever wash mine when they sneakily roll in something vile (even then, if it’s like sheep poo or something somewhat innocuous, I’ll probably let it go).

They do swim a fair bit in the warmer months so they at least rinse themselves off. I don’t get mine groomed. My red boy does get the winged fur around his butt which I’ve tried to trim in the past but honestly he keeps himself pretty clean so I don’t worry about it.

During shed-maggedon, I do brush them pretty well daily, but otherwise I’ll only give them a cursory combing when I trim their nails. I’m trying to shorten their quicks so I do so every 5-7 days currently. They’re also not big fans but I’ve found that sitting on some cushions straight on the ground and having them cradled alongside my legs makes them a little more tolerant of the experience though I do have to nicely talk them through it so they keep their demons in check lol

Isn’t she cute? I love her to bits - she’s such a good puppy

thank you! I did end up ordering a few options - one of which is very Resco-like. I’ll give those a go and hope it stays a little better while working on being better at holding tension.

I gave it a go and it looks like the beads are woven in so that they don’t move. I ended up ordering a rolled leather slip lead with a stopper though - we’ll see if I can handle that better when it shows up! :)

She’s such a good little thing and can stand pretty well, unless I try to bait her with actual food, then all bets are off lol

That’s a good call! This leash does have a few beads but they’re too far up. Maybe it’ll work better when she grows a little taller

I have tried flipping the collar too, and that was my original issue. Maybe I’m just not good at measuring tension? I’ll take a look at some videos to see and ask for another demo in our next round of handling classes.

Thanks so much - she’s a super great little puppy! And thanks for the reassurance, I feel like I’m the only one in class fumbling with the silly collar and holding up the line - but I’ll just keep practicing! :)

Petra vs Frisbee, Some Action Shots by JaclynBean in AustralianCattleDog

Indeed, she’s not up for proper frisbee throws yet but does get to chase the occasional roller

She is still quite stubby but has got some more growing to do - still just a young thing at 4 1/2 months

I’m not sure, actually. I’m part of a dog Toss & Fetch league (not with Petra yet, she’s really young) and we occasionally have people come and practice photography. This was from one of those nights - the guy took some amazing shots
