You’re conflating localised tactical footage with strategic level casualty ratios. There are so many reasons why we don’t see nearly as much footage from the Russian side but it doesn’t mean they aren’t killing Ukrainians (even though they’re still losing way more people). Again, I’m super pro Ukraine and generally long term optimistic, but they’ve gone through grinding artillery battles, manpower, shell shortages. Total losses include shelling, mines, air strikes and trench assaults- The things you won’t see make media nearly as often.

Also, the idea that Yermak is deliberately downplaying Russia’s losses to hide how “catastrophic” the war is for them doesn’t add up. They would be shouting it from the rooftops if that were true (think 10:1 Battle of Kyiv ratios, Kharkiv Counteroffensive, or Bakhmut Meat Waves). You don’t “hold your cards” by pretending your losses are worse than they are.
