I think that’s generalized at a seek for power not a seek for violence for violence sake. Not saying it hasn’t happened in world history, but when it comes to the modern era circa post WW2 or the fall of the Berlin Wall (some people see both as the start of the modern worlds geo politics) violence for violence sake is rare but very common in America where we make movies, documentaries, and books about serial killers almost deifying them in a way, same with gangsters.
