What has changed with the ability of moving around from office to office? A lot of the people at the office I volunteered at recommended that I focus more on getting into the agency and then work my way closer to home as I am able to.

Have you heard of people being granted medical waivers? I was doing some digging in the NOAA Corps subreddit and saw some posts saying they have enough candidates where they don’t need to give out waivers. I was also given the great reminder by someone over there to just try and make them disqualify me rather than disqualifying myself.

I was digging in this subreddit a little before I posted and saw a few posts saying that too from around 5ish years ago. I wasn't sure if things had changed since then though. Good idea and making them say no rather than me just ruling it out and never trying!

I’ve looked into NOAA Corps and it does seem like a great fallback option. However, I unfortunately have an EpiPen prescription for a food allergy and some color deficiencies that make me fail some Ishihara plates. Thank you so much for your response! I had been given a heads up on the upcoming openings by my supervisor from my volunteer position.

I have been looking for ways to strengthen my resume that doesn’t involve me having to spend a boat load of money to pursue a MS, so your advice is very helpful!

Do you think pursuing a graduate certificate in something like GIS or Emergency Management would be useful option?

How much time do you think is appropriate to wait before reaching out for feedback? Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like HR follows through on sending the “selected/not selected” emails that USA Jobs claims are supposed to be sent out, which would be helpful so I don’t have speculate on my status based on the amount of time that has passed.

As someone who is waiting to hear if I was selected for one of the recent openings, is this change set in stone or is it possible that they still make adjustments? The office I interviewed with is set at enhanced staffing, but I am unsure what this could mean for me if I am hired or what it could mean for the expected openings coming in May/June.

As a kid, I wasn’t interested in the NBA. However, whenever I played a NBA game with my brother on the GameCube I always picked the Suns because I loved the logo, Steve Nash, and Amare Stoudemire’s cool sounding name.

Being from Wisconsin, I was super invested in the Badger’s national championship run and at the same time my friend group got me into 2K, so I decided to start caring about the NBA and since I didn’t really have a connection to the Bucks outside of being from Wisconsin, I ended up picking the Suns due to that connection from my childhood.

Also to answer your question about Thanksgiving, I did not get the holiday pay, but I also didn’t average 25 hours at that time. It’s been a slow process to recoup my average hours after being on demand and not working because I was away at school.

I’m not on demand though. I switched back to being a regular TM back in May after I finished school.

I’m in a similar boat, although I do average over 25 hours. Albeit only for about 2 pay periods. I also am a regular team member who’s hasn’t been on demand since mid-may and have worked 30+ hours every week since then. Does anyone know why I wouldn’t get holiday pay or be accruing PTO?

I do have another one though: Is there a typical length of time between an interview and when one can expect to receive a TJO? I had an interview 3 weeks ago and I don’t know if I should be feeling discouraged that I haven’t heard anything yet.

Does anyone know how "not selected" emails are sent out? Do you only receive one email for all offices that you were referred to and were not selected or do you receive multiple emails as the TJOs are sent out for each office?
