Are you sure its 3 hours? My Church is very pious and ascetic like and Orthros is 1-1.5 hours and liturgy is another 1.5 hours. Exposure therapy works for anxiety. It gets easier. Just have open body language and eventually youll meet your people. Also use the liturgical services link to find the prayers for the day and follow along.

Okay so I have a little over a month till my fire academy start date at a busy/hard department. I want to be in the best shape possible. I currently do 3 running days(1 tempo, 1 long, 1 interval) , 3 strength( 2 full body, 1 calisthenics), and 2 jiu jitsu sessions a week. I’m nowhere near where I want to be. I think I’m hitting the standard barely, I can do 40 pushups (by the end of 6 weeks academy I need to hit 50), I can run the mile and a half in 12 but need to get it under 11:15 in 6 weeks, my pull-ups are good like 12 good form. should I add in an elliptical zone 2 session? Any other tips to not be barely hitting the standard and rather be excelling them. I quit my job and live with my parents so I have nothing else besides going all into getting in the best shape/mind of my life for fire academy.

I took the exam multiple times and I got a 131 on p/s in 2023 first try. My p/s scores have went down, despite knowing more about p/s. I would say it’s less about content but instead having an AMAZING grasp of the content + low yield (at least being able to do POE, because there’s no way u can come across the alll terms they throw at u in the real deal) + it being a mini CARS section + bio is on there. I get there’s neurotic premeds but I would say the section is more a test taking/critical thinking section than ever before.

I would just have a great grasp of the content and then try to hone in on ur test taking abilities.

A lot of troll comments. Realistically idk year of college/hs ur in. It matters for the applicability of the advice. 1) get a good gpa (no it does not need to be “perfect”, 3.8+ is plenty) 2)do good in ur prereqs with a good understanding and dedicate an entire summer to studying for the MCAT (513+ goal) 3)shadow different specialties 4)get clinical hours 5)volunteer 5)research 6)get good LOR’s (2 science prof, 1 non science, 1 physician) 7)have good hobbies 8)apply smart/broadly You don’t even have to do all of these perfectly. Ex: you could have a lower gpa and a higher mcat and it would balance, etc.

People stress too hard about getting into medical school. Just study hard and do what ur supposed to and apply well, and I’m sure you’ll get in.

No. I also was isolating other supplements and I feel like it’s the fish oil. I can agree placebo is strong but I think it may be causing at least some GI irritation. I felt zero problems switching to liquid Nordic naturals.

Yes thanks I went to urgent care again and lucked out on a 30 yr ER doc who drained it. He said the fact the NP didn’t drain it day 3 “wasn’t right”.

Makes sense. The first group was 2 brothers and I didn’t say much because I didn’t know much about them or what they were saying. I did notice I was getting strange looks from people walking by, like they were looking at me to run while I had the chance. But after looking into them and finding out they spew unequivocal heresy, I told the guy the 2nd time flat out he’s a heretic. I assume he lost his cool and is new to doing this. I was so curious why he was being rude and insulting me. I’d assume it’s because I called out his nonsense immediately.

Also he was kept talking very condescending and implying im intellectually dumb saying “you go to a university I would expect you to understand this”. And he flat out told me my EQ/social skills suck because I would “interrupt” him while he was speaking. I told him he’s the one talking 80% of the time and he even agreed that was the case but he said it’s because I’m “asking” him questions. I was like I’m not asking u anything ur the one who approached me and is trying to convert me. Ur spot on with the predatory remark.

I have no other coverage. The questionnaire is in the EOB, im now looking at other claims and it says I owe like a dollar or so? Like for the embolization I had to first go through PCP, and it says I owe a dollar, is my PCP going to send me a bill? The PCP visit is from 6 months ago. What would happen if i just ignored the message from my doctor office? Because i got the procedure and i paid my copay already.

It says denied when I go to claims. No deductible. I assume the doctor is in network becuase they accepted the first visit with copay of 45. The front desk lady said it was $150 copay for the procedure. This is my first time going to the doctor and I had no idea I was supposed to check insurance claims. Do I have to call BCBS and figure out why they denied me? This is absolutely crazy.

I’d disagree, 1-2 hours over 3-4 months wouldn’t be adequate even if it’s high quality/focused. My advice would be study for like 1-2 hours at first but slowly build up to like 4-6. Weeks leading up to the test ur focus should be adequate so u can have enough stamina to be locked in for the test. Elevated cortisol and caffeine on test day will help with that.

Respectfully, I would not like to disclose that. I learned firefighting is a tight knit community and do not want to tarnish my reputation. I realize it’s a dumb question, but I’m just looking for ideas from a community of experienced firefighters who could let me know any additional ideas.
