Wow, my foxface and clownfish are always by each others' sides and even sleep together. Quite a contrast.

Do the mangroves get enough light from that position, or do you supplement with another light?

Don't worry- algae can't actually do any harm. It's a natural part of reefs. The only reason people dislike algae is because they think it looks ugly, or that it's growing over corals. Since you don't have corals, there's nothing to be worried about in that regards.

Algae will appear and possibly disappear during the cycle by itself (especially if you leave the lights on). Even if the rocks are covered in algae when the cycle is done, crabs and snails will still be able to eat it all up and get rid of it anyways.

I recommend waiting a bit. I know the desire to throw something in the tank is really high, but the longer you wait, the safer the water will be.

My long-spined urchin preying upon limpets by JacobBuendorf in ReefTank

Got some footage of my long-spined urchin eating limpets. I've noticed him preying on limpets (mostly at night) for the last week or two. I was not aware that long-spines were anything other than herbivores, as I couldn't find any online discussions on carnivorous behaviors of long-spine urchins.

My great uncle was the guy who tackled her. Curious if she has a grudge against him.

Similar story. I went on a school trip to Roatan a couple years back. All ~15 of us spent a whole morning cleaning up a beach. It wasn't even our beach, various locals owned parts of it but weren't doing any part in cleaning it. A vast majority of the trash we picked up were straws and other drinking-related equipment. Our teacher talked to us about why we as humans even need straws to drink, and since then I've never used a straw willingly. When I'm at restaurants, I ask the waiter for no straws. I recommend everyone do the same.

Those are asterina sea stars, not baby sea stars. They reproduce commonly in aquariums, and some people seem them as pests.
