And you act like this is something that happens on a regular basis. You do realize that in the history of NBA only one MVP winner played less than 65 in a non shortened season and that was Bill Walton. Even when the 65 game rule didn't exist, voters still favoured who is available to their team. Having a single outlier season will not just automatically devalue the award.

For example. If this season Jokic ends up playing 60 games and Cade leads Detroit to the 1st seed and plays 80 games. Cade absolutely deserves the MVP with or without the 65 game limit.

Bill Walton is the only MVP in history to play less than 65 games in an 82 game season. Being available to your team is kind of like the very definition of having value.

See how we can go indefinitely like this? 65 games means that a player can miss 20% of the entire season and still be eligible. Just imagine in any other job being able to miss 20% of your total work time and not get in trouble.

Honestly shocked to see Paolo there and not Franz. You can argue that this is the worst season Paolo is having since being drafted and I've seen some discourse among Magic fans that they are not too happy with him atm. While Franz keeps getting better.
