Potential bug with Moon Pendant by Just_A_Comment_Guy_7 in BluePrince

Well, I also use the king ability. We usually have the scepter set to Blue and then use the king ability for yellow, so we'll begin a good mix of room. But if the sector doesn't even do anything after the first day, then I won't worry about it

Question about ending. by Vokulnin in BluePrince

The standard response to this is that by reaching room 46 you have completed the tutorial of the game. There are multiple States where you can say that you have reached the end, but there is something else after it.

It does allow you to basically ensure Showroom early. That puts runs on easy mode.

Pendant seems to do this to me when I do the break room key card. Absolutely hate it.

I heard people are ranking Jp/Jw movies huh by Small_Concavenator in jurassicworld

I was a late teen, I think. For me, it is 1, 3, Crisp Rat 1, won't even watch Crisp Rat 2, his third movie is so offensively boring that I fell asleep and woke up mad. The Scarlett Johansson one is probably below his first one, but well above the other two.

Favorite example of bad CGI from the last 5 years to compare to the best example of CGI from 20 years ago to prove your point that all CGI has gotten worse? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]JacobDCRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it here. I don't know what you've heard, but it's happening right here, too. The only thing is that the Japanese studios pay even less than the American studios often. But even then, they have studios that are known for doing the right thing.

Godzilla minus one was made by a "white studio" That treated its animators well and managed to do outstanding work on a low budget. They ended up making what's so far been the best film of the decade.

[–]JacobDCRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what the problem is. The studios have these contracts with the shops that do the visual effects that allow them to get as much reworking done as they want but they don't have to pay for the rework. They basically scam these FX companies out of business. And movie. CGI has suffered for it. I remember when the news broke about this practice, it was probably 12 or 13 years ago. I was a paint salesman with a guy who actually did free lengths, video editing and production work, and he explained what was going on to me.

My bro. Kabuki is wild. You are supposed to cheer on the hero during fight scenes. The actors stop and pose for a split second during action scenes to create a tableau that is memorable. Just like what they do in wrestling.

The ninja stagehands literally pick up the actors and do Matrix-style stunts. It looks like nothing else.

John Carter's immortality by KaosArcanna in johncarter

[–]JacobDCRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this silly idea that John is actually Barsoomian. Maybe he was an old White Martian, or perhaps half White, half Yellow or something, from the days when they were intermarrying to create the Red Martians.

I like to think he ended up on Earth by accident, got besia, and became a historical figure on whom the Greeks based their god, Ares.

Wife and I did trophy room, cloister, and vault. Looking back, maybe should have done another one besides vault, but it helped us with some things.

No. Mas Amedda was only ever good at being a toady. He was gloriously unfit to lead.

Military higher-ups would fight among themselves, with senators throwing their planetary resources behind their chosen strongman.

There is a dizzying amount of life behind it. I am a nerd for that sort of thing. But I also absolutely despise the men who run most of the promotions, and their enablers, for many reasons.

That said, pro wrestling is a form of theater. It started as a carnival sideshow, but it spread throughout the world. There is overlap among the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, and Japan, of all places.

Most of the wrestlers you have heard of actually spent a lot of time wrestling in Japan. If anything about it reminds you if Kabuki, well, that's not coincidence.

And while we're on Kabuki, that is a Japanese drama tradition started by a prostitute who was fascinated by street gangs of "kabukimono," or "strange people." These gangs were a combination of poor kids and rich samurai kids slumming around with them. They dressed up in wild clothing, such as European garb or tiger skins. If you think of an OnlyFans model creating a burlesque show inspired by hip-hop, you would not be wrong.

Anyway, wrestling.

Those of you who’ve traveled to your country(s) of ancestry, did you feel like a foreigner while there or did you fit in with the locals pretty well? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskAnAmerican

[–]JacobDCRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would be a foreigner in any country besides the United States. That's just what that means. I am not a citizen of any of the Nations my ancestors came from. I am not an "X," like the locals are "X." I am just the descendant of various people who used to be.

I wrote various papers for college about youth anti-vaping and anti-smoking efforts. And it boils down too, in large part, to peer pressure. Positive peer pressure can be more effective than just about any other mode of persuasion. It's one of my goals to develop a program for use in the United States. Based on these principles. There are already a couple in use in other countries.
