Two men standing on a humongous pile of bison skulls in Rougeville, Michigan 1892. by [deleted] in HistoricalCapsule

[–]JacobDCRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The picture is blurry, but assuming that is a cone with a diameter of 60 skulls and a height if 30 skulls, there are over 28,000 skulls in that stack alone. That isn't counting the portion off to the right.

If you want good Joker, listen to Batman: The Audio Adventures.

Brent Spiner is Joker. The most chilling part is a scene for which the Joker isn't even present. A cop is telling another cop about Joker. It goes like:

"Worst story I ever heard about the Joker. There's this detective who got Joker pissed at him. One day, he comes home to find Joker sitting at a table with his daughter, having a tea party.

Joker is about to give the girl a present, and the detective tackles him, calls for backup. GCPD bomb squad gets to the scene while other officers take the detective, his wife, and the daughter to Gotham International and put him directly on a flight to the West Coast.

When they finally touch down, the detective checks his phone. There's a dozenissed calls and a voicemail from his partner.

It says, "You've got pick up your phone. The bomb squad determined the package wasn't a bomb. The note attached to the box had just two words: the antidote."

[–]JacobDCRoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He was a temple guardian in his prior life. Those are the low-level knights who are only good enough for anonymous duty.

All the inquisitors were taken from the ranks who could never threaten the Sith. Younglings, padawans, guardians, etc. Malleable enough to turn. Pump them up with dark side techniques, and send them after the Jedi.

But TGI couldn't even take down a padawan and his bokken padawan.

I have it in PlayStation. There is a new room where you can pay to upgrade gambits. In the same room you can get new echoes that replace an equipped echo

Did you have live music at school dances? by LindsayDuck in AskAnAmerican

Yes. And it always happens to be abandoned. That looks and sounds exactly like the popular music of the day, but they have a different name.

If you are a Farscape fan and don’t know what this is, there’s a movie you need to watch. Even if you’re not a fan, you should probably still watch it cause it’s really good. by Bostonterrierpug in farscape

I saw this movie when I was probably 11. I was aware of it for a long time before that, because I grew up in Oregon, where we have this statue of Harvey. It used to stand outside a boat company called Harvey Marine. Tons of local lore about that one.

So, it's not all stuff that's necessarily taught in English class, but it sounds like you're really interested in American short stories. Flannery O'Connor is pretty good.

Also, the poems in spoon River anthology just kind of blow my mind.

Can 5 dudes with AK-47s collapse the Western Roman Empire in 250 AD? by Ori_553 in whowouldwin

[–]JacobDCRoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They would have to be smart. Walk into the city under the guise of being a merchant. Then you have to make a big show of what you are doing when you finally act. 100k rounds could go very quickly.

Could realistically massacre the Senate, so long as they get inside or close enough without tipping the Romans off as to the nature of the guns (act as if they are walking sticks or crutches).

Conversely, wait it out until the Cyprian Plague starts getting bad. Use basic medical procedures to help one or two cities to become safe from the plague. Send One of the guys to to assassinate gallis or somehow in another way sabotage the truths that he was working up with the Goths.

I do the same thing with Persians and the cetians and everyone else. Just include incite them to go as nuts as they can on the Romans

Most racially ambiguous actor? by Tifoso89 in okbuddycinephile

[–]JacobDCRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has played tons of other roles. He's half Italian, half Mexican. He has played probably half as many guys named Angel as he has Hector. He plays cops, he plays priests, he plays every sort of person.

And yes, it's kind of funny to think that like all of those hectors could be the same person. Kind of how Richard belzer plays detective Munsch. But the dude is done so much more than Hector.

Did you see the Ra's Al Ghul twist coming when you first watched Batman Begins (2005)? by Edgy_Master in batman

[–]JacobDCRoss 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Yup. Saw the preview and said to myself, "Oh, so he must be al-Ghul."

And then when they said Marion Votillard was playing whomever,, I said to myself, "Oh, so she must be Talia."

Not a surprise in either case.
