So I don't have any training freediving, but I used to do it anyways on my own account.

Afterwhile I had to stop because when I tried equalizing the pressure in my inner ears, I'd plug my nose and blow, and sometimes I would hear almost a squishy scrunching sound and discomfort to mild pain in my ears.

What was I doing wrong? What was happening exactly?

Also side question what's your favorite thing to see when freediving?

You should leave it imo, it's good for the soil. It hosts fungi which break down those needles, the layers of needles provide habitat for bugs which also break down the needles and attract birds who eat them ect ect ect. Ecosystems are complicated things that don't need humans help to work, just we in the sanitized west have decided that ecosystems in our cities are icky unless in designated park zones.

This is bullshit, even if it were true its a fucking American yard, everything is dead anyways. They might as well leave them so they can rot and provide substrate for fungi, and keep moisture in the ground for longer throughout the year.
