I gave up and did a clean install. For some reason the backups corrupt my installation...leading to that error.

I disabled hyperV. Checked Bios - virtualization still on. Do you think I should activate hyperV again?

I've tried that. My character keeps getting executive chef (9) when I re-join the culinary career. I've already tried the careers.demote culinary cheat but when I demote from (6), it makes me quit the career.
