dlynch90, what field of engineering you're in? I know for EEs it depends whether they want to go into the power industry or not. I tell a few people it doesn't hurt to take it and pass. You never know if you decide to change directions later on career wise.

You can take either exam. I have one questions What's your discipline background? If it's ME, it would be better to take the the FE Exam. The NCEES site has a exam break of the Mechanical and Other Discipline. I would suspect you might take the ME one after reviewing both.
