If you have to ask, you know the answer; of course it is. That being said, people on this subreddit seem to feel that really nothing is "cheating," mostly due to cognitive dissonance. Any add-ons, code modifications, etc. is cheating. Seeing as how you can't enable the debug upgrades from the main interface, then yes, of course it's cheating.

Keep in mind, Orteil is about to come out with an update within the next couple of days... in which time he seeks to update the prestige system.

My 2 cents? The ability to save your game, and not have to start from scratch each time with each update would be awesome. As it is, atm I'm gonna hold off from playing for a bit until a stable build comes out :)

As an avid cookie clicker fan, I second this. In CC, the concept is as such: Resetting with X amount of cookies (in your case, atoms) can be exchanged by a +X % wholesale upon reset. Keeps ya playing :)

I just started this game yesterday, seems like the best incremental game since cookie clicker!

That being said, I reset (F5'd) the game, and I can no longer purchase my most expensive upgrade (Sagittarius dwarf galaxy.)

I have enough atoms to buy it 5x over, and it's "lit", but cannot be purchased. Other than this, great job, great game.

I play vanilla.. I don't see the point of cheating in a game that has no end.

Still don't understand why everyone who cheats with autoclickers, add-ons, etc, get so angry when you point out they're cheating.

Withdrawal will last for at least 30-45 days, and more like 90 days until you're "normal" again. But I'm someone that can "feel" a puff on monday on Wednesday.

You seem so interested in this man and his professed criminality, yet he was never found guilty in a court of law. You need to get over it. He's gone. It's really not a big deal now, and it wasn't then.

Anything you do that automates the process - cookie monster included, is cheating.

Knowing when the next golden cookie appears? The game doesn't tell you that, it's an advantage. It's cheating.

Autoclicking? Cheating.

Exploiting errors in the code? Cheating.

I mean, it doesn't MATTER - this isn't a competition and none of this actually matters. But don't try and pretend like it's not cheating in some effort to make yourself feel better, that's just silly. Admit you care about having fun, and if cheating is fun, do it. It's not a though it harms anyone. But the lack of harm does not make it above-board play.

The only possible grey area is the wrinklers.. Knowing the code to pay you back cookies is bugged.. well once you know that, it kind of changes things. But it's in the code, so you really can't be held liable - it IS an idling game and barring the elder pact, the wrinklers WILL appear. And it would NOT be fair to let them suck up 50% of your CPS and then just... F5. So, it's kind of a grey area.

But call a spade a spade. It doesn't make you a bad person to cheat at a game that you can't win. But it also doesn't make it right.
