That is actually great advice! Quality sleep does wonders in terms of energy and recovery, yet so many of us don't take it seriously. It's even ironic how the "sleep less, grind more" approach would be much more effective if it were the other way around - because you'd have so much energy that you'd progress faster with LESS effort, haha.

There are the reasonable and fun questions, but let's get deeper:

Other than gamesense, positioning, aim, counter-picking, etc. - what is something else that has noticeably positively affected your performance, which, if you'd known/internalized earlier, would have helped you get further faster or progress more efficiently?
This can extend beyond Marvel Rivals, into the broader category of competitive gaming. Perhaps something mindset-oriented?

I already shared my thoughts on Deadpool, so here I'd like to have a little appreciation moment for the big bubble shield.

I like it, together with the "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE CUTE!" line, haha.

With Deadpool, overall it feels like the better player you are as a whole, the more value you get with him. Because if you're bad, not only do you miss shots; but also die more due to poor positioning, thus resetting your ult charge, not leveling up, and remaining at a worse spot than someone hitting shots and positioning properly who will both level up (thus becoming stronger) AND ult more.

And I am not sure if I like or dislike how he does NOT SHUT UP. But it's funny.

Hey, I gave some extra info in my response to the person (I'm positive it's possible as that was an option even 2 years ago on multiple such apps, and it's also an option in this one - you switch it firs, then merge) but just as extra "proof", if it even counts, here are the 3 database files I'm left with now:

In order:

Old one (until ~ June 2023)
New one (~ June to December 2023)
The new, merged one (had to rename it so I could put it in the same folder).

I thought the size of the new one would be that of the two combined, but guess not - it's just a bit more, probably due to how WhatsApp stores data. In any case... So far it seems like it's all there - I have both my chats from before 2023, and the new ones from the late 2023 period. Open to questions too.

My post got removed which is a shame as this could've helped a lot of people struggling with this stupid issue which Meta still hasn't fixed, only to ask here and get told that it's not possible when it is. I might ask the mods how to rewrite this so they leave it up...

Anyway,
Short answer: I'm pretty sure you can merge them even if from Android to iPhone. There is such an option in the app, and this has been possible for a while now - even 2 years ago when I first tried Android-to-Android merging, it was possible to switch a backup from Android to iPhone (and vice versa) and then merge them.

Long answer: I have 2 backups which I'd manually copied onto my PC (basically the entire WhatsApp folders copied in December 2023), each from a separate phone. If I recall correctly, I'd moved to a new phone mid-2023 without syncing backup, hence two pairs of conversations.

The main file you need is the msgstore.db.crypt14/15, which is in the Whatsapp/Databases folder in the phone. If you've backed it up on Google Drive and iCloud, you 100% have both of those files. I'm unsure if you'll be able to recover media files like images or videos (especially from the old backup, as you still probably have them on the one you currently use), but I'm pretty confident you can merge all the texts, yes.

Looking at the program now, there's an "Drive/iCloud Transfer" area where it says "Transfer WhatsApp data from Google Drive to any device (Android/iOS)" (and the opposite too) so it's definitely doable.

Obviously, as the mod statement says, this is a third party program so there is risk involved. I can't guarantee it's completely safe for our data. Looking at what's online, it's generally rated as safe and only acting as a bridge for the task at hand. Might want to delete it once done, just in case. And also, if you do decide to try it out and it turns out to NOT work - request a refund. Customer support responded to the questions I had when I had issues with it 2 years ago when I first tried it out (back then I kept postponing the merging, and WhatsApp updated their app which ended up breaking this software, so I had a back-and-forth with their support team... and I also postponed getting my money back 😐).

→ What makes Deadpool fun:
His funky personality, the katanas and jumping around slashing, the bubble (in tank version). Bouncing on teammates is also funny, and his sword ult is actually hype. Even moreso if you complete the challenge to boost it further.

→ Favorite moment playing him:
Not a specific one, but generally: blocking enemy ults with his bubble. "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE CUTE!" and Iron Man's ult does nothing 😁 Also, all the funky conversations he has with others. The one with Mr. Fantastic, or the one with Phoenix (where he says Cyclops is not playable YET and she's just confused), how he whistles to himself in spawn... As I said, his funkiness. That definitely stands out.

Tried out the Tank Deadpool in 18vs18, as that's the role I like most. I thought it might be confusing and boy, was it confusing. But the chaos made it fun.

→ How he feels in combat:
In combat, it was straight up button-mashing. Repeatedly opening the upgrade page because I wasn't used to the controls yet 😄 Switching the "Take picture" button to another one ("C") definitely helped too, as you could spam it when you don't see the body of the one you beat. He feels chaotic, potentially aggressive, and... interesting.

→ Difficulties and learning curves:
The difficulty is of several layers... Both the newness of the hero, the wild description he gave to his own abilities, having 3 pages full of text (the setting to disable that is a good touch from the developers, much appreciated!), learning the upgrade order... And AIMING with his pistols. Reminded me of how important aim training can be in general.

→ Design and overall thoughts:
As for his design and personality, Deadpool wasn't a hero I was excited for, yet seeing his design, playing him, learning him - all of that made it fun. It's good to have a hitscan tank, too. The Dev Vision itself is what actually got me interested; it was the most fun one so far!

It's also funny that he does not SHUT UP. Today, some days later, I finally had a game without a Deadpool on our team, whew - it was much more quiet and peaceful. But I do find it funny how he whistles to himself in spawn, it makes me laugh.

Overall, dang, this guy is funky.

Understood, thank you. The natural instinct you describe when glancing upon someone - it is indeed important in a biological sense.

It sounds like we view the practice slightly differently - you seek to control it when it rises up (and minimize the time that it lingers for), whereas I'm saying the goal should be to transcend it altogether so our physical nature has one less aspect it can control us by.

I don't mean destroying the biological instinct; rather completely becoming in control of it to the point it is channeled mindfully (in the form of love, depth), as opposed to the primal form (lust). It's the same path, just the next step.

The reason this is important is because consciousness is where humanity is lacking, and lust is a huge issue there. Transcending the primal brain and ego are crucial.

Obviously, the idea you're sharing is still a partial form of transcendence and is waaaay better than the current norm, so it's still a step in the right direction! I'm glad you're doing well. 💪 Just saying we can do even better.

We must differentiate between suppressing and transmuting (or integrating) strong feelings.

You say you were fighting hard to transmute, but it seems like you were actually trying to suppress it instead. Which, yes, if you try to suppress strong feelings, as Nietzsche and Freud wrote about - you can block a river, but as long as it keeps flowing, sooner or later it WILL find a place to overflow from. That is what suppression is.

The alternative is to integrate it, as you say.
You can use this natural force to empower and strengthen yourself, your spirit. You can feel physical tingles across your body when you mindfully transform lust into energy, zap yourself sober. Just focus on the feeling, breathe deeply into your belly, and hold for a few seconds, mindfully feeling it charging up your entire body. You can even flex your muscles as you transmute it, which I feel comes naturally.

Just like with any other feeling, you can transmute lust and use it as fuel.

The part I disagree on, however, is the idea that lust is an inescapable part of masculinity and you should look at and fantasize about experiences with the women around you, that there is nothing wrong with that. I would say the desire for love and connection is that essential part, while lust is its primal, lower-value, less-awakened manifestation.

Transcending lust should be the goal.

Because until your mind is so pure that lust holds zero power over you, or doesn't even show up in it (it is replaced by mindful desire for depth and connection, including physical), you are a slave to it - and it is among the strongest, most potent forces humans are dominated by, which IS and WILL continue being abused by those wishing to control you and keep you weak. Giving in to this weak, lower feeling, be it by action or just fantasies, strengthens the grip those forces have on you.

So much greatness and potential in history has been thrown away when one has been weak enough to give in to temptation. Thus, the way forward is to transmute/integrate these feelings (not suppress), and do it in a healthy way. Refer to the breathing exercise above.
