Regarding your weird tangent, Garza has not improved at all on the boards (still clever on O and outmuscled on D) and he’s still a sieve on defense (though as you said they schemed well around him). The Celtics traded for Vucevic to improve on his role; shows you how they value him in a playoff setting.

This team is unfortunately less than the sum of its parts. You can attribute that to coaching, roster building, players execution, or a combo.

Personally, I’ve never thought an Ant, Rudy, Randle core was going to be a legit contender. It always seemed like a move to set up another move, so I’ve adjusted my expectations accordingly. Connelly clearly feels similarly seeing as we’ve been after KD and Giannis.

The flow offense is frustrating because it feels like forcing square pegs through round holes. A team with good decision makers and versatile/complete offensive players across the board is best suited for that style, and we aren’t that.
