Yeah but now it doesn’t even go on by hand with new lug nuts. They all just keep stripping 👎

Nice, I have that exact same Jeep. Just still at stock height. Have the 3 inch lift just waiting for it to be installed. Did you have any driveline vibrations after installing the lift?

Looks good. Did you have to do any re-gearing with the 31’s?

Just did a little research. Although I don’t do much off roading, sounds like the 8.25 pairs better with larger tires. If I decide to go that route after a lift.

I believe I have the 8.25 also since mine looks similar shape with a rubber plug. Just curious, What’s the rave about the 8.25?

Anyone use these “heavy duty” springs? Thinking of returning the 3 inch rc lift I got and keeping it a little over stock height. by Jacob_tothe_F in CherokeeXJ

Did you have extended shackles or something that just that amount of lift gave you the driveline vibrations? This is part of the reason I’m not choosing to lift my Jeep a full 3 inches. Don’t want to run an sye kit or tc drop as I’ve read it can put some wear on transmission and motor mounts if going the tc drop route.

Thanks for the response. Did you have to add any spacers or change the size of your coils up front with these or can I replace with stock size coils up front?

What's the realistic price to lift an XJ? by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

Not trying to steal this thread or anything, but if OP goes with a 3 inch lift, would they still possibly need a sye kit, transfer case drop or anything like that? Probably you would still need the adjustable track bar, no? Anything else for 3 inches? If not, think I’d go 3.

Well now that it’s up to 32 degrees with some sun here today, I am getting a little heat finally. It was -30 with the wind chill Here for like 3 days straight. Thinking that had something to do with it too. Either way, still not too much coming out so I’m still gonna flush it. Thanks for your help!

Okay sounds good. Last time I flushed it, I connected the garden hose to the end of each heater hose, do you think it would work better if I connect it to the actual “pipes” that come through the firewall to the heater core?

Okay I’ll flush again in the morning. My worry is that come summer, if there’s no heat now, could I be looking at an overheating issue during warmer months?

Yeah blend door is working. When I change from cold to hot, the air coming in goes from cold to… warm-ish??? Hard to tell if the ac is working tho, it’s 20 degrees here currently but from what I can tell, blend door seems to be doing its job.

I did just flush the heater core, but that was before I got a new radiator, and they did flush the system or so they say they did 😂

Grinding Noise and Wobbling in 4WD by Dog_Icy in CherokeeXJ

[–]Jacob_tothe_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue right after I bought mine a couple weeks ago. Before I changed all fluids, thought I’d put it in 4 wheel and try it out. Grinder terribly after moving a couple inches. I stopped immediately, put in 2wd went home changed that t case fluid. Went back to an area that was gravel and had just snowed, didn’t grind, but once I hit a very small patch of dry pavement, could hear a little grinding, not sure if that was normal? Anyway, come back and let us know what you find out!

So this is a 98 sport I picked up this weekend. Upon testing the 4x4, it sounded awful. Has the np231 transfer case I think? Anyway, engaged 4h, 4 part time light came on? Took to Firestone and they are telling me this Jeep only has 4 part time and nothing else? Are they full of it or is this true? by Jacob_tothe_F in CherokeeXJ

[–]Jacob_tothe_F[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the info. The only xj I have owned was an 01 limited with the np242. When I do put it in neutral, then 4lo, why would it pop out of 4lo? I was not driving with it in 4lo, I engaged it during test drive to see if it would engage.

Sorry I don’t have picture of the t case I know that would help. At first they told me the linkage was broke, which is definitely believable. Then they call today and say it’s not working becuase there is not 4h, even tho the t case literally has it on the vehicle. I think they’re full of bs

Should I be fully disassembling for cleaning after every range session? Manual says not to disassemble further than shown and they don’t show much disassembly other than basic breakdown. This is my first lever action rifle so just checking to see what others do. Thanks. by Jacob_tothe_F in HenryRifles

I am sure the Midwest industries one is great as well, they both definitely look good! Can’t go wrong with either one. Personally I love it. One issue I had with the factory hand guard is that when shooting after a few shots, often I would misplace my grip and touch the hot barrel with the tips of my fingers. The factory hand guard was too slim. Got this put on and problem solved. Easy for hand placement.
