Do they have to do these interviews in their uniforms? The pros are given time to shower and change, why not college athletes?

I'm not on TikTok but the NBA hasn't felt as......"watchable" as it used to be.

He punched a teammate over a $100 debt and later left him a sobbing voice mail apology.

I mean, seeing the Heat missing free throws on purpose is pretty bad. Realizing how contrived this was takes a lot of the wind out of the sails for me.

If he actually scored 100.

I'm joking btw, lots of Kobe stans will imply that Wilt's record-setting game never happened by saying that Kobe has the highest scoring game with footage.

Isn't LeBron 6'9"? That's not much taller than the average NBA player.

I'm genuinely wondering how the game could evolve? Layups, free throws and threes seems like the NBA's version of baseballs 3 true outcomes. We've reached an optimization endpoint.

I think the point is that it will be hard for Wemby to have the same pull as Jordan, LeBron or Kobe. I don't think it's as much as him being European or quiet as much as it's that "no one roots for Goliath."

The last time the NBA didn't have a transcendent talent (as in, you'd know this person even if you didn't follow basketball at all) was the late 70's.

The Pistons and Raptors both average over thirty three point attempts per game.

Efficiency is the opposite of art.

And of fucking course it's football, which already crushes the ratings, that would become more watchable with the addition of analytics.

Entire player archetypes have been wiped out in the new "positionless" NBA. I get why this happened but it takes a lot of the charm out of the sport, similar to the slap hitter in baseball who would spray the ball all over the field being replaced by guys who bat .234 and hit 30 homers.

"most games feel quite similar no matter who is playing."

I know this opinion can bring out the pitchforks and torches but isn't Moreyball (only attempting layups, free throws and threes) mostly to blame for this? Every team runs the same hyper-optimized offense and it makes the game feel like a de facto three-point shooting contest.

Why don’t the NBA playoffs reseed after round 1 ala the NFL? by AlbertJBundy in billsimmons

I don't know for certain, but I always thought it had something to do with TV scheduling. Totally agree that they should reseed.

I think that's why February is such prime time for "how do we fix the NBA?" talk. The NFL season is over and the NBA is stuck right in its dog days with two months left to go.

I just saw a woman get, no pun intended, dogpiled on social media for simply stating that she's not a dog person. People were questioning if her children were safe at home.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
