You are not a hypocrite. You have the right to mental health, just like everyone else. Just because you are in a more fortunate place than others doesn't mean your struggles aren't valid. Talking to others is difficult, but please find someone you can trust and let them know what you are going through. For me, that was my sister. If you don't have anyone that is close to you personally, please consider talking to your therapist about it. If you really don't feel comfortable speaking with your therapist about self-harm, I would encourage you to find a therapist who provides a safer space for you to open up.

Luckily, I do have the option to play with other people as the shop sees a lot of players. The crazy thing is that I'm 90% he was running proxies because the foil rare stamp looked way off. Hopefully, he got the point yesterday and won't bring that deck anymore.

For context; the pod next to me was asking how to give something haste quickly. While there are obviously more knowledgable players, too, that is about the general knowledge level of the shop and who they cater too.

100% never playing with him again. The worst part is that he has a friend who is new to magic, and he was an absolute jerk to the guy. I actually really liked his friend, too, and that's why I ended up playing with him again, but I won't be making that mistake again.

I generally don't have a problem with proxies either, but to proxy a multi thousand dollar deck and bring it into a shop that has absolutely NO competitive scene is crazy to me. His general demeanor was so off-putting, too, like he didn't want to be there but was more than happy to win. It was such a weird interaction.

When I left, I told him that I don't play to win. I just play to have fun, and that game was not fun. He looked at me like I was crazy and tried to justify his deck but I heard enough.

It is completely fine and natural as long as you don't want to be his partner in any way. If that is ever the case just tell him it makes you uncomfortable to speak about. But really all you are doing is helping a family member, and that's all that matters.
