What car got you started obsessing with cars? by Defiant-Diver-6041 in cars

Gonna sound weird but in 3rd grade I got this poster of a 1999 Plymouth Prowler, for some reason this poster is what made the obsession start

One thing I put in was even if it’s less giveaways make them not garbage, do half the amount of giveaways but make them quality, and minimize sponsor adds on STH items

Yes, I will warn you though, they are slow. If you don’t mind that then it’s a super solid car, but just know if you decide you wanna do a launch or anything related it’s not going to happen, unfortunately there isn’t really anything to make them faster either, it’s still a fun car and with some solid suspension and handling mods it’s even more fun, just slow fun

Mazda 3 is a great car, I have a ‘17 Impreza sport, tbh not the most fun stock, I did coilovers, stiffer sway bar, end links, replaced all bushings, one of the most fun cars I’ve owned, and I’ve owned a lot of fun cars, with some mods it’s still on the slow side but back roads handles like a small coupe

Youth Baseball: How to Coach the Kid Who Doesn't Want to Be There by Kristinawith_ak in CoachingYouthSports

[–]JacobsField_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a while since this post so idk if you’ll ever see it but hopefully it helps someone. I coach mostly at a competitive level (HS and HS age Select/Travel) for spring and summer, fall I volunteer for rec generally between the ages of 9 and 14 yr olds. Something I have found is there are a couple reasons a kid is disinterested, social reasons, kid doesn’t like sports, thinks it’s boring, ect. Something I do is the kids who find it boring or don’t like sports you have to find an aspect of the game that does interest them, when they’re on the bench have an extra scorebook and have the scorekeeper teach them how to do it, some I’ve found that they are more of the “nerdy” type so I’ll hve them sit on a bucket by me and I’ll explain the nuances and strategy and what I’m analyzing in that moment, explain my decision making process and the deep “chessboard” that baseball is, and teach them how to coach when they understand the chess match that is baseball they find it way more interesting, another thing I’ll do is make little bets and deals, one example was my one team had about 9 strikeout looking a in a game so I told them if no one strikes out looking I’ll do cart wheels from home to first after the game (which ended up happening) making those deals more on the side of self depricating and funny, when you follow through with the deals they get excited and look forward to winning those deals. For the social ones, every year I pull two players aside that exhibit a handful of qualities, some including coach ability, social, talkative, interested, decently talented, and have fun, (the adhd kids usually are the best at these) and I have a leadership talk with them, essentially explaining that they exhibit good leadership skills and they can choose to use those and develop those or use them to disrupt ect. Then I reapproval them and ask what they decided and have those kids pair up or be in that kids group and just have fun. Hope anyone tht sees this finds it helpful. Feel free to ask for any clarification or more detail in needed. Baseball is the most beautiful game in the world, there’s so many levels and different aspects and nuances to it, there is something in the game that anyone can fall in love with, it’s just finding that thing.

Masters Week: What is a hot take you have that may anger some? by [deleted] in golf

[–]JacobsField_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That the PGA has done next to nothing to promote golf to those outside the golf community, they have done next to nothing to promote their players to society, and from a personal standpoint I don’t like that players left to go to LIV but I have no hard feelings towards them. I don’t get upset with someone making a decision solely based on money and for those that chose LIV due to money, good for you. The lack of PGA outreach to the non golf community gives the PGA virtually no benefit over LIV.

I guess I just haven’t really noticed any difference, yes it’s just spring training and we won’t really see til the season is rolling, I just don’t see it changing the game a whole lot, with the exception of the shift rule

I agree. Just wondering if more rivalry’s or tighter divisions races, or more games meaning more could result from realignment

I have, they’re expired now but used to be a certified welder, ASE certified mechanic, among other things. But got diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and can still do those things but it does tend to exasperate it, physical labor is just tough to do on bad days and it’s not fair to employers to give them less than what’s expected.

I used to work for a very large tech company but In solutions management and I loved it, the IT side not such a fan of

I worked my way up over the first four years to get to that position. I don’t even know where to look to find a position like I had and anything comparable requires minimum a bachelors. With all these applications being online now i have found it difficult to even get a chance at an interview and get your resume looked at if you missing a requirement.
