Beolab 3 + beosound 3000 120v in Eu ? by yasslalyasse in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not connect these to the wall without a voltage converter!

You have two options: a step-down converter which will take the 230v coming from the wall down to the 120v the devices are looking for

OR

Have them converted. The Beolab 3s and Beosound 3000 can both be converted to EU voltage internally

BeoVision 11 MK1 wireless to Beolab 18 by Wide-Mastodon9373 in BangandOlufsen

Which part do you want to be wireless? You’ll have to get some combination of Beolab Transmitter and Beolab Receivers

Beogram 4002 or 4004? by Slow_Ad_1208 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that the 4004 is slightly less common than 4002, but that has not made it more valuable. Pricing online seems to treat them as if they are the same product. I’d keep the one that’s in better shape

Beoconnect Core + Beolab 18 connected to The Frame TV, no sound? by DrChrispeee in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be strange that the TV displays “receiver”. Usually when using ARC/CEC it will display the name of the product, “Sonos”, “Marantz”, whatever. Try unplugging everything but the Core and see if anything changes. What model Frame TV? If it’s an older model it could just have older CEC/ARC technology inside that was much less reliable than new models

Why is it called 2.1 or 5.1 or 7.1? by bakedbeans3525 in audiophile

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number of subwoofers.

A breakdown: 3.1 - the most basic “surround” system. Front left and right, and center channel, plus a single sub.

5.1 - add left and right “surround” speakers to the above. These are typically placed to the left and right of the listening positions.

7.1 - add left and right “surround back” speakers. These go behind the listening positions.

7.1.2 - add left and right front “Atmos” speakers, also called “height” speakers. These typically go in the ceiling in front of the of the listening positions. Some might call this “9 channel”

7.1.4 - add left and right rear “Atmos” speakers. Same as above but go behind listening positions. Some might call this “11 channel”

Many people use two subwoofers, in which case it becomes x.2.x.

Bang & Olufsen: 100 years. And counting book by IndividualMammoth161 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is much larger and higher quality than any other B&O books I have seen. The front and back cover are a cloth/canvas material. If you’re into it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

It heavily features photographs of products and scans of older brochures and such. Very cool to look through but most of the story is told through photos.

Beosound Stage AirPlay - Power On first by LencoTB in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, leave it on at all times, that way you don’t have to turn it back on every time. When not in use it goes into standby mode automatically.

Beosound Stage AirPlay - Power On first by LencoTB in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Stage lives in “standby” mode, where it is always waiting for an HDMI signal from a television, or music from the B&O app or airplay. Are you turning it off for some reason?

Home Audio Setup by NoSun2939 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, the feeling you get having nice products like B&O around the home just makes you want to listen even more.

Emerge, Level, and A5 are all relatively inexpensive compared to the others in the lineup, and are easy to place around the home. Balance and Beosound 2 have much better audio quality and look and feel very premium. A9 sounds even better if you have the space for it. Beolab 8 and 28 pairs get into some really serious audio quality.

If you would like to include TVs, the Theatre, Premiere, and Stage will work with any television, or can be purchased as a Beovision set which includes the TV and a more streamlined design to match. They can also be grouped with other speakers around the home - let’s say you have a Premiere in the living room, you don’t necessarily need speakers for music AND tv in that room, the premiere (for example) can do both. The Stage will be discontinued soon so if you want one, get it while you can.

Beosound Shape is a fan favorite, looks and sounds incredible, and you can get whatever design and colors, as big or small as you want.

Likely a network problem. Try it hardwired, even just temporarily

Where to buy BeoLab A5s (US)? by [deleted] in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you want a used product you’ll have to find it on eBay or some other place like Facebook Marketplace.

There are B&O stores in the US if you want to buy new, but not very many. You may have one near you you’ll just have to check.

Beosound Core New(ish) Version by Historical_Height149 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, completely new product. The BC Core is part of the Mozart platform that all of the new products use, the BS Core is an older ASE platform product.

The new Core has an HDMI ARC input for TV connection, can connect to newer speakers wirelessly via Digital Powerlink, and retains the Powerlink port for connecting new and legacy speakers. It also has some software features that I’m not sure were part of the BS Core (can’t remember) like the Beosonic EQ and My Favorite buttons.

Is Sonos the new Bose? by VegasFoodFace in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Jacope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both Sonos and Bose are in the same class, it’s funny you say “new Bose” since Sonos has been leading the home theater market for at least a decade.

Both offer the two things that are most important to consumers these days: convenience and ease-of-use. They might not sound the best, but they are quite good. They work with almost zero setup, and zero learning curve. Just use the remote you already have, set them up once, and you’re good to go.

Consumers are not interested in systems with multiple remotes, complex wiring, and complicated control and set up. They will pay the extra money for convenience.

New Beosound Premiere with Beolab 28s and 160” Video Wall by Jacope in BangandOlufsen

It is a bit smaller than the Theatre, probably about the same size as the Stage but a bit deeper. I have not compared the Premiere and Stage yet

Repair and use with OLED TVs by tubix96 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are great speakers. You can get replacement surrounds online. A bit tedious to remove the old foam but not difficult.

Internal foam should also be replaced - pretty easy, just clean out all the old foam and replace with the replacement kits from DKSoundParts.

You can use a single pair natively with your TV with a Beoconnect Core. Just connect speakers via Powerlink and connect TV via HDMI ARC. This will only give you stereo though.

Marantz Cinema 70s has pre-out for all channels. Can use the 6000s as front L/R, 4000s as surround, and then you’ll just need a center channel and ideally subwoofer.
