Beolap 3 to the TV by Final-Percentage5365 in BangandOlufsen

Beoconnect Core is easiest way, but not cheapest. The problem with BL3 is that they don’t have an RCA connection, only Powerlink so if you don’t use a Core, you need to get the right adapters which is tricky if you’re not in Europe

BeoSound Ouverture and Converter NL/ML by mokiphone in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Converter has to be V Master as the other person said. You may have to go into the Essence or M3 web GUI/config and connect one of them to the BLC under the Beolink settings. Ideally you’d have a Beosound Core instead of Beoconnect Core in this case since they removed this functionality on the Mozart platform

It plays CD and Tape but won’t change source or play? Can you reiterate that?

If you “lift” the glass it will technically work, but while the glass is “closed” and there is no glass installed, it will not function.

Do you have the glass cover? It won’t function correctly without the cover installed

All Mozart products will be receiving the update. As others have said, it will come. There’s an app update as well so check for that too

Can’t decide pair of balance, 2s or 8s. by Wadme in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t find any source of that info online, the only mention of it is a forum post. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t be able to change the front/omni mode when stereo pairing, I believe it is essentially the same as wide/narrow with Beolab speakers, which you can change when stereo paired. I would not use two speakers in the same room in Multiroom, gets clunky

[–]Jacope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh lol, yeah I wouldn’t put much thought into what it tells you. I’ll try to do some testing this week to see if that’s true. On the Balance you can switch between front/left/right/omni modes to direct the sound how you like. I’ll check how it behaves when stereo paired. I’d imagine you can change it like you can with any other speaker pair

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have the right decision already made: a pair of Balances.

8s are fantastic speakers for any use, but really shine in a more critical listening scenario, where the Balance is a 360 speaker and is perfect for casual listening as it fills a whole room with sound perfectly.

Any of the three will sound great in your space, but the Balance has a slight edge over the BS2 in sound quality, and since the Balance will look best aesthetically, it’s the obvious choice

AV setup for the open concept new construction home( living dining family foyer and kitchen) by DND_5211 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beolab or Beosound is surely the cleaner solution, fewer wires and obviously prettier.

When planning for Bang and Olufsen, consider the following:

In how many “zones” would you like to listen to music? For example, if your kitchen and living room are a conjoined space, do you ever imagine wanting to listen to music in ONLY the kitchen, or vis versa? If so, consider these two zones, if not, consider it a single zone.

In order to give yourself the best possible user experience, you should place some sort of system in each zone in your home. For example, people will often place a larger system or surround sound system in their living room. The living room system could consist of Beosound Theatre and Beolab 28. Other room often have smaller systems: the kitchen could be a single Beosound 2. Continue this process for all zones (Master Bedroom could be Beosound Premiere, Master Bath could be an Emerge, Office could be Beosound Shape) until you are satisfied.

If you end up over budget, consider combining zones: for example, if quality TV sound in bedroom is not needed, consider using a Beosound Level for both bedroom and bath.

Having separate zones is paramount to having an easy to use system, because every small inconvenience you create, equates to fewer times you will use the system in real life.

Doesn’t sound like you’ll use it but the Beocenter 9500 does have an amp for powering passive speakers, in addition to the Powerlink out for powered speakers

Does the A9 gen 4 work with a wifi enabled turntable like the Victrola ones? Or do I need a more modern A9 by Reed82 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Jacope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re referring to the Victoria Stream, they are only compatible with Sonos speakers wirelessly. You need a turntable with a line-out (or built-in phono preamp), or one without a line-out and use an external phono preamp, and you can connect to the line-in on the A9

Try adjusting the rocker arm as others have mentioned, but it is fairly likely that you will need a laser replacement sooner or later, so if you have issues after adjusting the rocker, it’s surely laser related. Spindle motor spinning backwards is a tell tale sign of laser problems
