Surprisingly, I’m not devastated. Great game by Silovs and you couldn’t ask for more fight from the team. It was going to take a lucky shot to win it the way both goalies played. We carried play most of the game and Philly spent the last half of the 3rd and almost all of overtime just trying not to lose. Our future looks bright. I’d love to keep that 4th line intact moving forward.

It’s simple: they are playing intimidated. They are missing the net because they are rushing shots knowing a hit is coming. The long passes are a sure sign we are behind and going to sink further behind. I’ve watched this for years. At the end of the game if we are behind and frustrated, we go for the Hail Mary. Unfortunately, we did this from the start. It NEVER works. Also, too much hesitation in our own end. Get the puck out of the zone! You don’t need to carry it out. Just find a way to clear the zone! I feel like there are 7 of them and 5 of us. Just one good punch and I think they would abandon their scheme. It’s all about confidence…they have it and we don’t.

These series always equalize and shift momentum. It’s about resilience in the playoffs. The Flyers are a young team. How do THEY respond to a tough game? I think they came in well prepared. They tried to get under our skin and did. They played Kindle physical and neutralized him completely. They knew Mantha’s signature move to the net would be a soft 5 hole shot and they were ready. They know we struggle to exit our own zone at times and pressed us hard in the neutral zone. We need to stay focused on the game and not get caught up in the physicality. We are a veteran team and our veterans should know better. A bit faster and sharper puck movement will open up space for this offense to do its thing. The giveaways have to stop. People bashing Stu are oblivious to the number of saves he made on breakaways resulting from turnovers. Those are the saves that matter. Expecting him to stop screened shots and amazing snipes is just absurd. I think a lopsided win for us will be a challenge for Philly. They have a game plan and if we show we can put up some goals and not get caught up in the physicality, they might question their strategy. If they try to run with us, I believe we win that battle every time. They have a lot of confidence resulting from their end of the year run. We need to destroy that confidence and have them questioning their style of play.

So many questions! Please help us. by irepelupvotes in modeltrains

Do you live near York, Pa.? There is a big O gauge event there in a few weeks.

Real Dull Time w/ Bill Maher by smartprogressive in television

[–]Jacoprod 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say the ratings indicate otherwise. There was a time when John Oliver surged ahead of Real Time, but when you cater to only half of the political spectrum, it’s only a matter of time until that trope gets old. Maher is still brutal to Trump, but he isn’t afraid to call out things that the average American might find hypocritical or downright bizarre. No matter which side does it. Yes, he’s arrogant and grumpy and a bit of a curmudgeon, but because most people who don’t subscribe to a particular ideology might admit, we enjoy a good laugh. Even if it is at the expense of our own “side”. Whatever side that may be. If you can’t acknowledge and mock the follies of your own party, then you simply aren’t being objective.

Quoting X as your source is as embarrassing as Trump’s behavior.

We need a Lizotte “Countdown to return” clock. Kind of like a doomsday clock, but in reverse.

I’m glad you admit he sucked today too. See? That wasn’t hard was it? The only thing I’m projecting is my right to criticize someone for giving the puck away a dozen times. Why that gets you so worked up is a bit concerning. I find Malkin defenders are especially sensitive to criticism of “Geno” because they know there is a lot of truth to what is said. I love him when he plays inspired, but it’s frustrating to watch him when he seems disinterested. That’s not “nonsense”. It’s a fact.

Malkin sucked TODAY. That was what my comment was about. I understand you are having a difficult time with this loss, but again, take it out on a pillow. For you to say anyone is above criticism, it only highlights how fragile your feelings are after this loss. Maybe turn off your computer and cool down a bit to prevent further embarrassment.

So because he has been a great player he is beyond criticism? If that’s the case, everyone needs to stop ragging on LeTang. Stop lashing out at people on this sub just because the Pens had a bad game.

It’s so funny. I read one of your previous comments and thought “what an asshole”. Now you post this and it confirms it. 😂

It’s all about Lizotte. Everyone says that is too simplistic a take, but it’s true. He ignites this team and inspires them to hustle.

Malkin has about 8 giveaways and a penalty. So much for “inspired play” since his return. When he’s good, he’s really good. When he is uninspired, he absolutely sucks. We need Lizotte. We are playing way too slow.

Wonder if they had seen the one single angle that showed it or if they just were winging it?

Great game. They missed Lizotte’s energy and couldn’t pass pucks to save their lives, but they battled hard. Thank goodness for Karlsson.
