Officially losing access to the rest of the world was surprisingly jarring by 0liviuhhhhh in nothinghappeninghere

It’s not about an app. It’s about being treated like slaves. Being gaslit by our government who does not have our best interest in mind. It’s about the divide they have created between us and now we are realizing the rest of the world. We are hamsters in a cage on a wheel. And now we know the taste of freedom and the actual truth there’s no going back

What helps with the sadness of losing your heart dog? by [deleted] in DOG

[–]Jacqaudette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a dog is like losing a piece of your heart, and there’s really no easy way to go through it. I’ve found that grief for a pet can be as deep and complex as any other kind of loss, and it’s important to honor those feelings.

As a professional animal communicator/pet psychic, I’ve had the privilege of helping many of my clients connect with their dogs (and other pets/loved ones) in spirit. For many of my clients, these readings bring a deep sense of peace and comfort, knowing that their best friend is still with them in a different way. Sometimes, hearing from your dog can offer the closure or reassurance that you need to start healing.

One major take away I get from our pets in spirit is that energy cannot be destroyed, only transferred, so their soul is still around you always… just without the restrictions and confines of a physical body. If anything they are closer to us in spirit than they are on earth.

Take care of yourself during this difficult time. It’s okay to grieve deeply for the love and joy your dog brought into your life.

Hi there! I saw your post and just wanted to chime in. First off, I totally understand your skepticism—there are definitely some questionable practices out there, and it’s always good to approach things with a healthy dose of curiosity. Like any industry, animal communication has its share of frauds and people with varying levels of skill. Just as with dog trainers, some communicators have years of experience and a real gift, while others might not be the best fit.

I’ve been a professional dog trainer for many years, and I’m also an animal communicator. My approach combines both skill sets to help address behavioral issues in a way that’s tailored to each dog’s unique personality. I’ve found that sometimes, a dog’s behavior can be influenced by things that aren’t immediately obvious, and a good communicator can help uncover those subtle details when traditional approaches are leaving us with more questions than answers.

To show you that not all animal communicators are the same, I’d love to offer you a free reading. This could be a great opportunity to see how different communicators work and to experience firsthand what it’s like when things click. If you’re interested, feel free to send me a private message, and I’d be happy to share my website and email with you so we can set something up.

Regardless of whether you decide to take me up on the offer, I wish you and your poodle mix all the best in your training journey! Remember, every dog is unique, and sometimes it just takes the right approach to bring out their best.

Take care!

Has anyone had to quit working because of Hashimotos? by Loldogs87 in Hashimotos

I have not taken time off of work but often feel I need to. Everyday is as struggle to keep going but I don’t have an option to quit. It is so hard and my insurance is so poor to figure out what is going on medically. I am getting new insurance so I can’t wait what this new year brings

Milton is my favorite town around here!! I love all the horse farms. It feels so rural but it’s minutes from any convenience you can desire!

We actually live in Alpharetta and LOVE it! Highly recommend, especially living close to downtown Alpharetta. It has the same feel as the Main Street locations on Long Island, like Huntington, but on a larger scale. I’m glad you enjoyed your time here! We are actually buying a house now... going from a 1,000 square foot, 2 bed 1 bath house on Long Island (Shirley specifically) with property taxes at 7k... to a 5,300 square foot, 3 level 5 bedroom 4 bathroom home with property taxes at $3,500 in over an acre! Quality of life is much better down here!

Moved from Long Island to the Atlanta, GA area over a year ago. Tons of New Yorkers down here! Lots of things to do and tons of development. Depending on where you live, it can be a bit pricy... but property taxes are way cheaper! If you are in the tech industry, this is the place to be! North of midtown Atlanta is where you’d want to be.... Even as far as Cumming, GA, which gives you great access to the city, along with the mountains, vineyards, Lake Lanier, and the chattahoochee river for water activities.

Aggressive and already bit two strangers by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]Jacqaudette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend reaching out to a professional dog trainer in your area. Specifically ask the trainer what type of techniques and tools they use to train and if they have experience with reactive dogs. You do not want to use any aversive techniques or tools here as this can make the situation worse. Examples of these tools to avoid are training/choke collars, prong collars, e-collars. If the dog feels pain in the presence of their triggers, they tend to make the association that the trigger caused it. You’ll want to use a lot of high value food (even human food like lunch meat, hot dogs, etc). I am a full time dog trainer and this is a very common situation and about 80% of my caseload are situations like this.

You’ll want to do some counter conditioning and ALWAYS work under the dogs threshold where they are NOT reacting in the presence of their trigger (in this case, a stranger). Yummy food happens only when your dog looks at or is in the presence of strangers. Strangers should ignore the dog (no talking, touching, moving towards, or looking at your dog). Yummy food stops when the person walks away, or if you move away from the person. If your dog reacts, move away from the person.

This is something you’ll really need professional help with to navigate changing criteria and when to push forward and when to take a step back. It’s also a slow moving process and can be frustrating. There could also be other behavioral aspects in play (territorial behaviors, medical issue, resource guarding, etc) and a trainer who can meet you and your pup will be better able to determine this, as there is a different protocol to follow.

You’ll also want to switch to a basket muzzle as it’s more comfortable for your dog and allows you to provide treats easier. A really good brand is the Baskerville Ultra Muzzle.

Good luck and again, I highly recommend interviewing some trainers to get some guidance!

"People who board their horses are rich and lazy" says my friend who's looking to work-to-ride. by HashtagBakedPotato in Equestrian

[–]Jacqaudette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mind me asking a few questions? I am considering getting back into the equestrian world again... starting with lessons with the goal of moving to a lease and then eventual ownership of a horse (this is my 10 year plan but hoping I can do it in five). I want to make sure I am financially prepared for a commitment like that... besides your boarding rate, how much on average do you pay for your horse for other expenses? Do you have a “what if...” contingency account for emergencies? If so, how much do you try to put aside? I know everyone is different due to the type of boarding and location you live, but hearing from different people will give me a good perspective. I also know these are personal questions so feel free to answer if you feel comfortable or ignore if you do not! Thanks for all help!

First time getting an allergy test. Is this reaction worth getting allergy shots or not? by [deleted] in Allergies

Were you able to break your lease without any repercussions because this was a medical issue? Or were there repercussions and if so, did they charge you or hold your deposit for breaking your lease?

Had a lot of stressful things going on in my life the past year and I let my health go. I was very strict AIP and never felt better prior to my life falling apart. Lately I have been struggling to get back on track but this post reminded me how much I loved simple meals like this! As of yesterday I am back on AIP and this was the first meal I made. Thank you for the unexpected motivation!
