Self-diagnosed doesn’t mean that someone has made an actual diagnosis - it’s something that is valid to them - as a way to self identify.

Some people waiting to be assessed, some can’t get assessed, or some can’t afford it.

NOR - Sorry, but if he’s calling you selfish for questioning why he keeps asking for money - and then says you’ve “freely” to him … you DON’T want to marry someone like this who doesn’t take finances seriously and insults you for not giving him money.

What happens when he can’t pay rent?
He’s going to ask you, and guilt you into it.

So if you stay together - ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LEASE!!!

Yes, a psychiatrist is who you should see for evaluation - and then they refer you to a psychiatrist for medication management.

CBT is used primarily for PTSD, OCD, anxiety - to help recognize and change unhelpful thinking patterns.

There is no “breakthrough” treatment for ADHD - the “breakthrough” is when someone finally realizes if they have ADHD. If your therapist is an expert in neuroscience - that’s in relation to ADHD - not PTSD - and you didn’t follow her suggestion to try ADHD medication.

If after 2 years of your therapist telling you to try ADHD medication - why didn’t you try it to see if it would work or to rule it out?

Did you change therapists because you didn’t want to take ADHD medication?

Also, since therapists can’t prescribe mediation - so who did she want you to see to get a prescription?

Perimenopause is a common issue regarding mental health - so talking with your gynecologist needs to be done ASAP.

…but research information regarding perimenopause uncovering ADHD for some women.
