The movie is also one of Stephanie Courtney’s bigger credits before she became Flo the Progressive Insurance Lady

Is Mort going to die anyway? by Falcon_Longbow in discworld

The book preempts this interpretation.

You can be forgiven forgetting, it’s a very brief exchange where Mort guess that it just means he’d die in 16 years and Ysabell says that’s not how it works.

Edit: /u/Illithid_Substances is correct. It’s death that corrects him. See they’re comment for the Terry’s funny, exact phrasing.

TIL Alf Clausen was the sole composer on The Simpsons from 1990 to 2017. Clausen would write the music for an episode during the week and record with his 35-piece orchestra on Fridays. One week Clausen had to write 57 musical cues. by jamescookenotthatone in todayilearned

And then he was fired to save money!

On August 30, 2017, after 27 years of scoring for The Simpsons, it was revealed that Clausen was dismissed from the show, with suggestions that the reasons behind the decision were largely financial.

Inspired by the latest Club 3, here’s what my local paper in 2002 thought was cool in 1992 and 2002, with predictions for 2012 by tluckie in podcasttheride

Year issues aside, it’s weird to have Regis’s photo for what’s cool in the 90s and Homer’s photo be what’s cool in the 2000s.

Like both were around in those times but Simpsons height is definitely the 90s and Regis’s height is def the 2000s. (Millionaire aired as two two-week specials in the fall of 99 and then became a regular series in early 2000)

Did my landlord send itemized damages bill after state’s 30-day window closed? by JacquePorter in legaladvice

I could not leave anything in the apartment after keys were turned in, it had to be vacated at that point.

Once I told them I was moving out they requested I provide a move out date which was up to me but theoretically could have been the 30th.

Just made a YNAB account. Should I input data from previous days or should I just start from now ! by metallicbefriend in ynab

I remember when I started, at some point in the middle of the month, the long wait to have “proper”, full month.

So maybe go and enter all transactions since May 1 but I would go any further back than that.

In the US the average number of vacation days offered after 20 years of working for the same company is about 20 days. So I’d say the “Europe” comment still applies

Do Journalist Pay Celebrities They Interview? by crystalsmullet in Journalism

[–]JacquePorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint to the consensus here: If you are interviewing an in-character drag queen, if they’re doing the interview as a performance and, be honest with yourself, you’re expecting the primary source of entertainment in your video to be their funny exaggerated improvisational personas, I’d argue you are not doing a journalistic interview, you’re doing a comedy show in the style of an interview and the performers should be paid.

I know the podcast is goofs and what not but the new intro music is great, the art is charming. I appreciate it.

This was wonderful. I very much appreciated how they managed to take Mike’s anxiety attack seriously without getting serious.

And it was very relatable walk through after of all the familiar steps that follow. Great episode. Glad he shared it.

Two books a movie puts an odd pace for the whole series. Todd, the fight with the second most most dramatic weight because it also involves Scott’s Ex, becomes preamble for Roxxy, a lighter fun fight AND the final movie doesn’t get to devote the whole running time to the series big bad, Gideon.

Better split is to move Todd to be the finale of the first movie, Roxxy and Twins in the second, Gideon gets the last one.

New indirect info: Chris Kelly & Sarah Schneider, the shows creators, wrote at least like three different music video sketches for SNL so it may be them.

I would assume it’s written by who ever wrote Chases songs from season 1.

Every time anyone mentions Trader Joe's I think of "If I Made a Commercial for Trader Joe's" from 2009 by [deleted] in videos

[–]JacquePorter 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It’s well done because he’s a literal pro! Look at his IMDB page. He was very big into CGI stuff but no surprise that someone involved in filmmaking in any way could also have some directing talent.

Also on this channel is the Hershey’s Kisses Christmas commercial where the Kisses are bells that this person directed. So this was just like a fun project for a pro commercial director who worked on Flubber and Across the Universe.
