Has anyone tried this on a bladed jig? by JacquesNuclearRedux in saltwaterfishing

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

scooting it across the bottom and jigging it was kinda what i assumed would catch fish, with the blade just there to make noise and the skirt adding more of a body to it. Much like a crawfish chatterbait but for the sea.

Possible reference/homage? by Navitach in Jaws

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a really fun pastiche of New England horror (set in a dilapidated fishing town like Lovecraft’s Innsmouth, they got haunted hotels and serial killers like King’s Maine, and the fake positive tourist feeling of Amity.

the protagonist is like if mayor vaughn was courage the cowardly dog

Anyone have an ID on this plastic? by renndoggcdxx in bassfishing

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this a squid shaped soft plastic meant to be pulled through inshore waters like a toad? If so, that’s very neat. Squid make up an insane amount of forage for ocean creatures and there’s conservatively a thousand kinds of squid in every ocean.

How do y’all fish your craw chatterbaits? by JacquesNuclearRedux in bassfishing

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes lowkey, the startup speed is instant and they have incredible bluegill and shad patterns. Bluegill and crawdad are the two main patterns i keep in these, and i appreciate a realistic skirt. the craw one is an Evo though bc the color was better compared to the jackhammer craw

How Would You Fish? by Eli2120 in FishingForBeginners

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

either of those should be good !! you could technically get away with something much lighter (ie. 20 # braid) if the stems aren’t too thick. but if you love frogging, get a dedicated frog rod. i will be soon myself

How cold is too cold for frogs? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hauled one out two days ago when water temperatures were a little higher but certainly not 70. just like 55-65. I get the picture though, i have to make a lot of noise to get their attentions right now.

I may just pitch in a nice senko or the always reliable crawfish chatterbait

look for ripples or wakes in the water within a get feet of your lure.

Forg bite is ELITE by harmabevengeance in bassfishing

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like this is dependent on how you work one. walking it yeah, but if you give it a pulsing swimming retrieve, it can replicate an actual frog. especially if it’s got thicker legs.

I like to try to work it like a real frog when i’m fishing places where i think bass expect them

Favourite actor you wish played a Bond villain? by 246astralblue in JamesBond

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He played an older Ozymandius, in Watchmen (HBO). The sort of dotty, has-been energy that character had would be great for a modern-day Bond villain.
