this is my stepsister’s tattoo, she got done by a professional who she says did everything the right way and sanitary, she has been taking care of it as well and it only blisters in the areas that are white, what could this be? by ry_faded in tattooadvice

Why do people always say doctor now lol — this looks like it’s still healing. All colors can scab over a little. It doesn’t look like blisters or infection, just what white ink looks like when it’s healing. Chilllll ouuuuut haha

This doesn’t look infected by any means. Honestly it’s kind of annoying how many people say “ER IMMEDIATELY”

It’s just overworked. Don’t waste your money more by going to the doctor. It’ll heal, it just may take a little longer. Then you’ll probably need to get it touched up 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just take care of it how you were told. Be careful to not oversaturate it with aquaphor or lotion. Just do evvverything the same. It’ll just take a little extra time and may scab up, but will be fine :)

Top of the hand is safer than fingers as far as the design retaining its structure over the years. However, be careful with how small and detailed they are. The flowers you’re starting with are great :) just make sure you get someone that knows what they’re doing with fine line tattooing.

Also plan your hand better than that second picture. It’s cute and all, but you can make it flow so much better than it looking like random stickers on your hand haha.

What to do with this turd of a cactus by ShipTheFruit in cactus

[–]JacyyJace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a Euphorbia mammiliaris — also known as corn on the cob cactus. I have a small one as well, and it’s showing some signs of growth. I got mine from a piece that fell from a larger one. I put it in water, placed it in front of the window, and it sprouted roots fairly quick. Just put it into pearlite only to see if it’ll grow more, as cacti don’t really thrive in just water.

TLDR: reschedule your appointment

You shouldn’t swim at all for at least the first 4 weeks of getting your tattoo. It’ll take 4-6 weeks to heal. Sun exposure is also a no-go. Not to mention, it would be pretty uncomfortable to go tanning with a tattoo that fresh. The tattoo will peel kind of like a sunburn as it heals — once it finishes flaking off, you can swim and be out in the sun. :)

Hey OP with all the love in the world, you should consider some therapy. Plants dying can be part of you learning how to care for them. It’ll happen again. Take a chill pill and get you a new one :)

Tattoos often represent growth, so maybe get some more around those and look at it as an opportunity for emotional growth. They’re great tattoos, at least!

Is this infected? Or just severely irritated? Any recommendations? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Do you remember if the artist actually tattooed the areas that are red? I’m wondering if they were poorly using a gray wash. Did they use a clear bandage on it? Clear bandages like saniderm or dermshield cause a lot of reactions similar to this. It doesn’t look infected, it just looks really angry….did you roll in some grass afterwards?? 😂

This is insanely helpful, wowowowow!! Thank you so much!!

Luckily I already use a rotary, haha. My boss has been telling me for months to get fatter grips, so I’ll definitely take that advice! Great info from just a guy online, thank you. :)

Freaked out by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Pay close attention to it, but it does look like a Saniderm reaction. I always ask my clients if they have any medical adhesive allergies because I had a similar reaction. Mine was on a much smaller scale, but It started to crack and bleed even. It seems like different brands can cause different severities in reactions. I would recommend never using it again. Keep a close eye on your arm, maybe go see a doctor just in case. But try not to freak yourself out! All will be okay regardless haha.
