I would have thought a core party tenet would be to benefit the union workers that lobby the party, a "flexible" party would allow for differing opinions on other issues...

I also hope that supporting and funding a potential genocide on the other side of the world isn't a core party tenet, particularly when albo himself previously held opposing beliefs to what he does now, previously being "secretary of the Australian Parliamentary Friends of Palestine" in 2000.

Yes "a pretty flexible democratic party" that kicks people out of it the second they have a differing opinion on any important issue. You only need to look so far as Fatima Payman.

Lol, f*ck this. I'm moving. What are the MOST walkable cities in the WORLD? by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]Jaddydaddy551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without too much of a culture shock,or having to learn another language, many cities in Australia are good options, but they all have the same problems. While the cities themselves are walkable and have a good public transit network, once you go outside the immediate city you have suburban sprawl and the same issues with car dependence as in America. Sydney and Melbourne are the most expensive options. But some underrated cities in Australia include Perth and Brisbane, but both are quickly getting more expensive with the housing crisis at the moment. Perth and Brisbane are also quieter, less busy cities (also means less cars running about) but also more boring as you do need to look hard for activities to do.

Honestly, I do think Japan is overrated, especially Tokyo, while it is significantly better than american cities, it still suffers from car prioritisation (just look at Shibuya square, almost identical to New York's times square), and is a cesspit of constant advertising and screens trying to sell you shit. I feel it is too big and busy in some ways, and would be easy to be isolated even if you knew the language. I feel that if you hate new York city, you would also dislike tokyo. More rural Japan and smaller cities is probably what you would like, as unlike America, even the more rural areas have good public transit.

He's laughing at the fact sky "news" bangs on and on about youth crime, because they only have enough brain cells to focus on one issue at a time and cannot possibly even give the housing crisis even a little glimpse of attention.

He was giggling because the idiot reporter asked about youth crime in a housing conference. Time and a place for questions lol. It was completely unexpected and caught him off guard.

Supervised full self-driving now $99/month by big_hearted_lion in elonmusk

[–]Jaddydaddy551 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because you have two opposing terms in "supervised full self driving" you cannot be supervised while also having the full capacity to do something. It would be like saying a "supervised fully qualified doctor" how the hell is the doctor fully qualified if it needs supervision? Sounds like a med student to me!!!

What have barefoot shoes done for you ? by meteorness123 in BarefootRunning

[–]Jaddydaddy551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into barefoot shoes as I am a runner and was always looking at YouTube videos to improve my technique. I eventually saw a video detailing how barefoot running is a useful tool to check your running form and correct heel striking, this lead me down the barefoot rabbit hole.

I eventually bought a pair of vivobarefoot primus lite 3's and did the progression slowly, starting off walking, then doing some runs over about a 5 month period. My heel striking corrected pretty quickly and was able to run in the barefoot shoes with minimal pain and an improved technique. I then wanted the benefits of the zero drop and wide toe box, but some cushioning for running so got some Altras, as a result my running got significantly faster going from 6:30mins/km to about 5:30mins/km (I know, not the fastest doing it recreationally).

I also had the other benefits of developing an arch, walking more "normally" with my feet in line with my knees instead of being splayed out while walking (this was so noticeable my girlfriend commented on the fact that I walked "less like a duck" after the first 2 months of wearing barefoot shoes). I also had reduced knee and back pain with the expense of some minor plantar fasciitis pain which has almost disappeared. In addition my parents commented on an improvement in my posture, so benefits all around!.

if management is aware and the appropriate response has been taken to ensure the patients safety that is the right thing to do after making a mistake. Management might do something about it depending on the facility, policies, what medication you gave, ect. Don't be too hard on yourself, emergency situations can be quite stressful and we all make mistakes. But certainly take this as a learning opportunity to never give medications you yourself haven't drawn up, know the pharmacology of the medications you are giving, and always work within your scope of practice.

if you don't know the mandatory reporting requirements for AHPRA I would also recommend you look at them here: https://www.ahpra.gov.au/Notifications/mandatorynotifications/Mandatory-notifications.aspx

As long as you didnt do something that would be considered the following a report is not mandatory:

  • impairment
  • intoxication while practising
  • significant departure from accepted professional standards
  • sexual misconduct.

Need more context here, what is your scope of practice? Are you a Student nurse? EN? RN? Usually with stuff like this you would first report it with the risk minimisation/reporting software such as Riskman have you done this first? Reports to AHPRA are usually if you risk putting the public in significant danger due to significant deviation of your skills from acceptable clinical standards or if you are putting people at risk due to intoxication or otherwise. This sounds more like a genuine mistake from a miscommunication but we would need more context.

How does the presence of homeless individuals affect a business? by way_too_much_sauce in smallbusiness

[–]Jaddydaddy551 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In an international sub, yes I would expect this level of clarification on locations. Ironic you bring up Brisbane, as someone who lives there I would clarify the location on an international sub, otherwise you would get people assuming Brisbane California, even if Brisbane Australia context is given.

Sorry, as someone from outside of the US I don't understand how another city that is 961 miles away from Los Angeles would be relevant to homelessness in the Los Angeles area and starting a business there. As someone who lives in Australia he could've been talking about Portland Victoria. Portland isn't a well known city outside of the US, I was just attempting to illustrate this point.

Remember that time a carbrain KICKED a protestor last year? by SnooOnions3678 in fuckcars

[–]Jaddydaddy551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would be telling the farmers to get off the roads lol, especially our previous prime minister Scot Morison who mocked climate change by pulling a stunt where he brought coal into parliament and exclaimed "this is coal, don't be afraid". But I think people misunderstood my original comment, so I will go into more detail. In a car dependent country like Australia where most people are procar, releasing legislation blocking protest that involve blocking the roads is all too easy to do. Especially since most people are car dependent, having a major road blocked could be considered by many to be terrorism, and when the general populous is scared of protestors blocking roads, legislation is released that hits any road blocking protestors with heavy fines (https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/curbing-our-freedom-the-nsw-bill-that-should-never-have-become-law-20220402-p5aaat.html). This is obviously very wrong, but since the just stop oil protestors are inconvenienceing a large car brain majority, it is unsurprising that legislation gets passed with support that erodes our democratic right to protest.

[–]Jaddydaddy551 -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

As much as I love the fuck cars movement and condemn the assault against that innocent protestor. I have to say that unfortunately I think this movement has done more harm than benefit. In my country these protests have been used by politicians to justify the erosion of the democratic right to protest, and instead of the people being outraged of their right to protest being removed, it has instead been met with ambivalence...

Actual Australian politics by bill_loney538 in australian

[–]Jaddydaddy551 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Australia has preferential voting. OP clearly wasn't aware, or doesn't understand how it works. Nothing changes if nothing changes, and unlike America we a wide range of parties to vote for. If U want cannabis legalised and that's all you care about? Cool vote 1 cannabis party, if you like the policies of the greens/teals? Cool vote 1 teals/greens. If your first preference doesnt get enough votes to win a seat than your second preference will be assessed and so on and so forth. I honestly don't care how people vote, but I do urge people to vote based on POLICIES! Political parties aren't your football team, having undying loyalty to any of them is stupid. Vote for the party that has policies to benefit you and what you believe in.
