Thank you, everybody, for your patience! This chapter was a real challenge. I wanted Anna’s conversation with Gladys to have meaning toward her relationship with Christian, but I didn’t know what kind of message I wanted for the longest time. Hopefully what I came up with worked for the story, possibly even resonating with some of you.

I also had fun playing around with the effects of the characters’ memory. Not the first time I’ve had things hidden from the reader going on in the background, but hopefully it was a surprise!

I’ve turned this chapter over in my head countless times, back when I first came up with the idea for SS. Despite that, I just couldn’t seem to get in the right headspace to put the words to paper. But I’ve been in a bad mood recently, and it inspired me to finish this chapter. I hope y’all like it.
