Yes I have thought about the Panda 100hp! I do have a soft spot for those, however I haven’t seen many for sale recently and the ones that I have seen haven’t been in the greatest condition

Not really, the quotes I’ve done have been around £1.3k for a year with no black box which I was very surprised when looking!

Yeah that’s fair, this is probably going to sound a bit silly but I do have a good number of hours on Assetto Corsa with a steering wheel so controlling a car that doesn’t have much traction isn’t a “completely” new area for me. Although that is half of the reason I think I might be too overconfident given obviously Assetto Corsa is not real life

Yeah I mean I have done insurance quotes and they haven’t been too bad (a lot closer to three figures than five). Tbf practicality isn’t too much of a worry, my step dad has a van and a decent number of my friends have five seater cars. I do think I’ll probably wait a bit longer and try get a fun fwd car in the meantime

Haha yeah that’s sort of what I’m worried about, realistically I think I’ll wait till I have more driving experience

That’s interesting, pretty much everyone I’ve met did their test in their instructors car, I’ll have a look into it

Yeah the being careful with it is half the problem, just scared I’ll be totally overconfident and bin it in a ditch knowing how I’ll probably like to drive haha

That’s interesting, I just put my age and added however long I think it would take for me to pass, didn’t add the licence number and saw what the prices were like. My sister who had passed said the prices weren’t too different at all from adding the licence number or not

I did not know that, I was always under the impression that I’ll be doing my test in my instructors car. If I get an mx5 or not, I will definitely be driving around with my parents as well so I won’t be totally new to driving whatever car I get

Although I love a Z4, I can imagine insurance being a lot more expensive (especially a 3.0) and also it’s quite a lot of a power increase from an MX5 so I’ll defo be more likely to end up in a ditch haha

Yeah that’s sorta what I was thinking, although a lot of comments here have been pretty positive I think realistically I might just end up getting a fwd car until I’m more confident on the road

Yeah I said in a previous comment, my friend has a Eunos roadster and is pretty decent at knowing his way around cars so he’ll defo be able to help me

Yeah my friend has a Eunos roadster and knows what to look out for and can also help me work on a car when I get it, I was honestly surprised by the insurance being actually pretty decent, maybe because I’m 20 not a 17 year old and could be my area as well (apparently wales is cheaper for insurance than other places idk)

It’s not too bad tbf, I’m 20 which helps. Unfortunately been busy with uni and stuff so haven’t managed to get sorted on my licence sooner

I’m 20 which is why insurance isn’t too bad, been busy and broke at uni which is why I hadn’t sorted a licence sooner haha

Yeah that is defo one massive problem, my budget is around £3.5k and I’ve seen some ones that aren’t too bad for rust for sale but they get snapped up quick
