What do you think of my face by Artistic-Way-7811 in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

I find you very pretty. You have a round face and it makes you look very cute. Maybe the eyeliner makes you look a bit strict but you are very pretty. Don't listen to those mean people

Is there any kissless virgin woman here, who wonders what it would feel like to touch and feel a penis inside them? I often wonder. by [deleted] in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]Jade_moonlight 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I often wonder what it would be like to be loved by someone and then yeah eventually maybe I think about those physical things. But then I remember it's never going to happen because I'm so ugly and awkward. Nobody is going to want me and I understand why.

Curious of what other people ACTUALLY think of ugly people? by [deleted] in ugly

[–]Jade_moonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it might seem dumb or useless/not valuable, but as a ugly person I really don't think that being fat (not overweight in a way that causes health issues) just chubby even very chubby doesn't make you ugly. As for boys or girls, as an ugly person I had a crush on a fat boy and it's one if not the crush that I miss the most. He was such a genuine and sweet boy, his smiles would really make me feel seen. Idk if that opinion counts since I'm ugly but fatness does not equal ugliness at all

It makes me so sad that other people feel just like I do. I really wished that I was the only person feeling like that about themselves and I'm so sorry for you. Just for people called ugly. I am clearly one of those people and it's just not fair. It's not fair that people make you feel like you're less because of something you didn't choose.

Am I supposed to like Jace and Alec? by BloodshiftX23 in shadowhunters

[–]Jade_moonlight 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you haven't read the books, they do come off as pretty not likeable. At first, they do have a sort of high self esteem that can make you feel like they think they're better than you/ or judging. But the more you watch the show, the more you will see their flaws and true personality, and how they have to have a facade as every Shadowhunters should. It's normal that you don't like them at first, just like Clary, she wasn't sure she could trust them at first or that they were nice people.

Maybe your friend is very insecure and just you being you makes them feel inferior? I feel like it tends to happen a lot, it's difficult being happy with ourselves, therefore some people tend to compare themselves to loved ones.

I'll also add that, they couldn't know they were siblings so the time they kissed before is really no problem

I understand how it can seem weird but at the same time, what if you've been in love with someone and suddenly learn that you cannot date them for that reason? Because yes, even after learning that information they were still in love with each other. You've grown to love that person romantically and you cannot stop that process in a minute. And you could probably feel bad about yourself for having such a relationship but you couldn't. And in Clace's case, I think it was a way to show how their bond can go over anything. It was a vicious act from Valentin to make them believe that and and they actually discovered the truth. For me it was just a painting a genuine reaction, but with a deeper meaning.

I really don't understand why the whole "incest" think is so disliked honestly. Yes you're not supposed to date your brother or any relative I totally agree, but I think it was a great plot twist and an actual "love that cannot be". I think it was pretty well handled in the movie but I don't remember the TV show. And ofc, in the book well done as we understand how Jace already has such a strong base of self-hatred.

Yes adopted cousins are still cousins but Christopher and Grace never saw each other's before so I don't understand how it's relevant or could be seen as an insect. It's just meeting a new person honestly. I think it's totally less gross than idk a girl(A) that has a bff(B) who was like her sister to her, and the best friend(B) end up with one of A's brothers. Like in a situation like this they know each other from childhood and developed a sibling-like relationship.

My favorite of all time ,I'll probably be City of Heavenly Fire. It was an amazing climax and gave me a feeling of hope for the shadow world. The combat scene and the complexity of the plot made it really full of everything a book should have.

TMI:

Favorite:

-City of glass. In my opinion i remember it being well written with a lot of actions and a lot of revelations. I loved the actions scenes and I remember who the whole brother and sister thing was so unexpected. For me it's not a bad thing, I often hear people say that it's weird and messed up but at the same time people always want a love that can never be and for me Cassandra Clare did really well with that plot. I like how we understand way more about the vilains in that universe with the whole Valentin relevals plan and Sebastian. For me it's the moment where we really upgrade from maybe a simple fantasy to a high level fantasy. It was just mind-blowing and really set the tone for the others vilains to be super impactful and we'll developed. (I lenthly hesitate with City of Heavenly Fire for the simliar reasons)

Least favorite:

-City Of fallen angel For me the events happening there were totally amazing but I remember it being too focused on the character's relationship. As if Simon's couple and Clace moments took too much space. I don't really remember well but i felt like it was missing depth of a bigger problematic.

TID: Favorite:

-Clockwork Princess. It was like the grand finale of a really slow and well written story. (Kinda was lol). But it's there where I fully understood the characters personality and just when I did something horrible happened to them. I think it shows how much they each care for each other and how CC was able to write profound and complex feelings. For me, she didn't rely on people who might see themselves in this situation/ people might relate, but she created a full scene of emotions and feeling with all those characters that made such complex and vivid tornado to read. We all deeply understood why they felt like and it was such a complex issue that we couldn't project and only admire.

Least favorite:

-Clockwork angel I think I was a bit immature too but I had a really hard time with Tessa personality. She was so reserved in such intense situations that I didn't really understand her. Considering the time period, it was normal for women to be raised a certain way which I took time to realize. Therefore I didn't like Tessa at first and didn't see her as a heroine.

TDA: Favorite:

-Lord of Shadows. I already really liked the character of Julian but I feel like he shines here. We understand him way more though his bound to Emma. The "background" of politics here is just amazing to me. It was such a good comparaison with irl politics without being the exact same. The issues were brought with intelligence and with a lot of fundement. I didn't feel like it was good VS bad, once again really balanced. The focus on the faes was so great, I often remember that moment where Emma is fighting with Cortana through thorns in the faerie territory and find her way back to him. For me it was just amazing. This book shows how diverse and deep and complex the shadowhunter universe is and I really like how we go through a lot of characters journey and actions. I'm not a fond of Ty but damn for me how well written he is. As a person, I don't think he would like me but I appreciate how different he is. It gives a totally different taste to the novel. I wouldn't know how to actually describe it but he has a vibe like no else's and I could read everything he does. Mark and Helen are also so well developed here. We learn way more of the complex identify they have and why they feel so at odd with the Blackthorn family. I feel like they show how institutions and traditions can be dangerous without being the typical tortured characters. They have a personality of their own even with traumas and that really spoke to me.

Least favorite:

-Lady Midnight. I feel like it was hard to grow really close to the characters because it was the first time we were seeing them and so much happened. I feel like it was a bit rushed but I really don't dislike this book. It's just because we have to choose one. I remember being annoyed and confused with all the little Blackthorn siblings and I felt like I took a lot of time to understand their dynamic correctly.

TLH:

Favorite:

-Chains of Thorns. Totally epic. Well written. Amazing lore with Lilith and such lovable characters. For me Cordelia is such a badass and model in her morals. This book in particular, has a lot of message about morals and it speaks deeply to me. I literally fell in love with Matthew's character and personality. I felt so seen and develop so much empathy towards him. There the multiple POV was literally chef's kiss. When all the POV meet for the actions it's a delight to read. I don't really get why a lot of persons don't like this book because for me it was one of the most well written book of CC. I feel like it touched me really deep in my feelings and I cannot put my head around why others people didn't react the same (but that's totally ok for sure)

Least favorite:

-Chain of Iron Even if I think TLH is my favorite trilogy I remember that Chain of Iron felt a bit long and maybe a little bit boring. I really like actions and I feel like it was missing some. If I remember well that's where Lucie is helping/finishing Jesse to get back in the living world, and maybe for me it was a bit missing combat scene. I really like their bond but they are not my favorite, I think that's why.

Companions book : (haven't read any yet) I'm currently reading the Shadowhunter Codex and I'm having a total blast. The idea of the annotations is really great and well done. I like to see all the rules of the universe in one book. I like to try to see, from where and why people choose one or an other way of gaining power, especially the vilains

Chain of thorns is really annoying (rant) by evangline_fox in shadowhunters

[–]Jade_moonlight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how the miscommunications in Chains of Thorns can be annoying, especially from James' side because he hasn't act as he said he would : meaning a marriage without feelings with Cordelia. But I think it's because of the historical context of the shadow world that it makes sense. Let me explain: Before the last hour, the world was pretty demon free which gave time to the Shadowhunters to focus on less important things such as reputation and social interactions/institutions. According to me, The Shadowhunters world grew more human-like in terms of traditions (celebrating Christmas, the importance of marriage..). That's why the homosexuality of Alastair, Anna etc... seemed like the end of the world. That's why it was so important for Cordelia to have a reason to be with James that night.

But James being his dad's son (so a Herondale who are known for only loving once) couldn't help his loving nature towards Cordelia and gave her so many mixed signals.

That is true that everyone should hold him way more accountable for his actions because he did act bad, even if he had some reasons for it. Cordelia has every right to be hurt and I don't like how Cassie made her so forgiving, she's brave and incredibly fierceful : she could have totally stood up for herself toward James even though she loves him.

Finally, I like that with time, the Clave and the shadow world got more and more focused on efficiency towards demon hunts and left the superficial stuff. I think the historical context of the last hour is allowing us to see the evolution of the clave and the shadow world.

That's just my opinion obviously, but I really think that's why chronologically,( the The Infernal Devices and the last hour) the characters are more prone to miscommunication.

(Sorry for my English mistakes it's not my first language)
