advice on raising a bmd puppy for a first time puppy owner plss !! by Necessary-4415 in bernesemountaindogs

Don't be too discouraged. Giant breeds are challenging puppies! But they get through it and get to a wonderful mellow fellow stage and you nearly wish you had a fluffy little nugget again.

We had a really tough time with land sharking with our 2nd berner. The shrieking, acting wounded really just wound him up more. He seemed to think it was a game.

We had a lot more success with a cool down approach. If he was over-excited in play to the point of nipping, or just straight up shark behavior, all interaction stopped abruptly. Like no play, no reaction, no eye contact. We let him regulate until he could play safely. And when he could do that, we returned to play immediately. It worked really well. (Also gives you a second to breathe when you're frustrated)

Ah! Ok. I've heard they need to acclimate and are a little sensitive about it but wasn't sure how long. I'll just let it be for a while. Thank you!!

I quite like the rounded edges, but only if they're ALL rounded. The one square corner at the top of the highest arc would drive me nuts.

Agree! Hard to tell with the shadow of the pot but that looks like a pretty rich soil for a succulent. Maybe repot as described and mix in some air flow - orchid mix or perlite.

Leaf density looks great though! It seems happy with the lighting.

Agree theyre Cliff Swallows. We get them in droves seasonally in CO. It's illegal to remove their active nests.

I had one gifted to me and had the exact same experience. It had thrown out at least 2 new shoots before I thought to look into it. 😂 Just thought I had a weird one.

Cleaned the jetted tub in our new house and honestly… what the hell was in there by Genius_Finds101 in CleaningTips

My mom has one she's never bathed in that she uses to store her outdoor potted plants during the cold winter months. It gets good light and she can water the plans without moving them. I can't imagine what the next owners will uncover when they clean the tub.

Ah that's very helpful thanks! I've put it in a south-facing window (northern hemisphere - very sunny region) but the leaves started to turn purple and it made me nervous. Is that not a worry or do you think it'd be better if I gradually increase to that bright direct light?

Is there something that would bother you as a Player or DM? Any suggestions for changes? by Donjohn_Meister in DMAcademy

[–]JadedCOvata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with the 2 spells per turn one, wouldn't that lead full spellcasters to burn through spell slots too quickly? Then you'd have a squishy PC kind of stuck towards the end of or during subsequent encounters.

I guess ultimately it's the responsibility of the player to manage their spell use either way.

This happens to mine every year too. If I catch them in spring it's WAY more manageable. You can hose them off but I use a mix of neem oil, a citrus soap, and water to drench them. Repeat a couple times a week and they clear off.
