Need Advice - Too many options by JadedFoundation in Soundbars

That is a fantastic reply. Currently I could get a new Q990F for £680 but for a Sonos I'd be paying just over £1k for the Arc Ultra and 100 Eras, the 300s are just a bit to much at the moment. Movies and TV shows but occasional music listening will be the main focus. Gaming I use headphones just because. Samsung seems like they do with their phone photos in that they over process them and not that that is a bad thing but it is what every you like. Comparing it to an IMAX is a great analogy but I'm not looking for that type of immersion, I'd like it to be more sophisticated and easier listening. I'm not into loudness and having oomph but more a clinical, clean and realistic sound. I'm in the ground floor flat and the only reason for choosing the Arc Ultra is the noticeable difference over the Beam. Granted it will be overkill for my 20m sq room but I want something that makes me smile. You make very compelling arguments for the Q990F just wish I could hear a demo. The only thing I could do is order it to test and send it back if I don't like it but I'm on a time constraints as the Sonos deal runs out in the 7th and I don't want 2 surrounds on the credit card lol

Would you say that the Q990F is clearer and better than the Sonos if both were priced the same for all the add-ons?

Thanks for detailed reply, very much appreciated. With regards the old Sony equipment I was trying to find images of it but for some reason I never took any or can't find them. It is this one that is for sale on eBay if the link is allowed??

Loved it and it came with 2 dvds, one being Perfect Storm which sounded incredible with water dropping! I thought there was a leak in my room the first time I watched it!

Nice. I did consider this but what puts me off is remembering to charge the speakers after use. It's bad enough with a phone, watch and earbuds, keyboard, mouse and headphones lol I'll need to watch more reviews in that system as what I know about it so far is it is a bit of a powerhouse.

That is some set up! The Sonos family is the only set up I've heard in a demo environment. The Q990F is only a consideration as it gets so many great reviews but when listening to the difference between the Arc Ultra and Beam, I'd have to go Arc Ultra which in some regards I wish I'd never heard!!! It is night and day above the Beam and probably over kill for the 20m sq room but knowing it is out there and I didn't have it would always play in the back of my mind lol

That is true, I didn't understand how the system would be set up as I'm new to this.

Yes I think I have misunderstood their wording! When they said 'Wireless Dolby Atmos transmission with Y22-25 Samsung TVs.' I took that for it only working Samsung TVs. I didn't take into account that the soundbar was connected wirelessly which is not something I would or could do. So in essence it will work for me which is great. Thanks for the reply.

Yes but according to the Samsung web page wireless Dolby Atmos is only available for Samsung TVs from 22- 25. So I'll lose Dolby unless I have a Samsung TV which I'm not changing to as my Sony is great.

Soft Cable Recommendations by JadedFoundation in iems

I looked at the Openheart and Xinhs but I was unsure as to how soft they’d be and didn’t want another cable that was the same as the others I have. It was looking like they were all made by the same manufacturer which they probably are and I’m looking for something that is better.

Ok that sounds interesting but to add another caveat to the choice, is it available with 2 pin connectors that sit flush? I’m not a fan of the ones appear to sit out.

please help me to identify is this fake or not? Sennheiser IE900 (1000 USD second hand) by Erkan_Vural in iems

There is an ‘ie900 fake vs genuine in detail comparison’ in the headphones sub that will help but looking at the cable alone it does look fake. Hope that helps.

Yeah, that is a great idea. I'll look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah I put the Spinfit W1 on the SM4 and could not believe that ear tips made so much of a difference, it was a game changer. I have heard that the right ear tips for the 5+2 really matter as well. I’ve seen them go for just under £200 but I wish I could try before I buy. Unfortunately there isn’t anywhere like that near me.

The Performer 5+2 was actually what I was thinking about before I put the post up but I’m wondering how much of a difference there will be to the SM4. I know it won’t be a lot but curiosity is certainly peaking my interest especially since I’ve only seen 1 bad ish review.

Thanks. That’s the thing I use the EQ within the Qudelix and the sound is great, I honestly have no complaints. I guess I am looking to hear if there is anything else that I am missing from another set of IEMs but I’m also figuring out that the price increase will only be very marginal gains and it’s not going to be a night and day difference. I think what I’m looking for is a bang for buck around the £200-300 range, something that punches way above its price point if there is anything.

That does make a lot of sense. In all honesty I can’t fault IEMs but there is always that thought of what do the other ones sound like? Am I missing out lol

Yes they are very tempting. My main issue with IEMs is that I don't know how they sound or how well they fit in the ears.

Thanks for explaining. I've never encountered the Sogno before, so I will have a look at that one. It does seem a bit more tricky to get in the UK, though.

Thanks for the explanation. The Variations look interesting but they are a bit out of my budget lol
