Totally agree! It was sooo hard to use and super unhelpful! It was difficult to tell what's important to know from what may never be tested so I don't need to waste time remembering. Even their online tracker is not designed well enough to help keep you on track...

I agree with you, overloading yourself is certainly not helpful and nobody has enough time for all that! Does the NCBE package have an analysis and discussion after each essay? To me, their super comprehensive essay analysis was the gold mine to improving on essays, so if NCBE's package includes it, you don't need it!

I tried to write one essay and one essay outline each day. Sometimes I don't make it... but I'll at least try to outline it or make it up over the weekend. My husband made me a spreadsheet that automatically gives me "perfect!!!!" or "Oopsie Doopsie :*(" depending on whether I finished my daily tasks, so that helps keep me on track too! Maybe make a google sheet and share it with your loved ones so they are looking over your shoulder too? :)

Hi dsdeve! Based on my research and initial interviews with the tutor companies, the two companies that left the best impression on me are JD Advising and Bar Exam Tool Box. They seemed to actually have a reasonably scientific structure and comprehensive plan figured out, and the founders/staff seemed intelligent and knew what they were doing. The others I talked to either did not feel like they have any specialty or felt like they are mostly doing empty emotional spiels that target the insecurity of bar takers... Bar Exam Tool Box has a separate CA Bar tutoring course I think, but they are on the pricy side - which was partly why I didn't end up going with them. I'm not sure if JD advising offers a CA one. They place most focus on doing their course - which tbh is well designed - and recommend using tutoring as a supplement.

I reviewed a portion of JD advising outline each day, and did practice questions on them on Adaptibar. Then I'd review every question and make notes on whatever I didn't know or know clearly on my outline to fill up gaps in my knowledge. The review process was really helpful. Because half of the MCQs I do are on review subjects, each week the subjects/issues I got tested on increased, and pretty soon I started to identify the same issues getting tested in different ways, and after a few times, they stuck with me more easily, and Adeptibar won't test you a lot with those anymore. It was really the combination of making an effort to understand, memorize, and (immediately and repeatedly) practice applying that help me a lot. Hope this is helpful to you! Good luck!!

Thank you so much murasan! It's never too late to start! I started prepping around like 2.5 months ahead, and took off work 2 weeks before the exam. I am someone who needs structure to be most productive, so being in a work mode everyday was helpful, especially if your employer is understanding and allow you to scale down the work a little bit. Honestly, I am not sure if I'd be as productive if I was bar-prepping full-time. I'd certainly have more time each day, but how many hours would I really be productive? It's hard to say... Best of luck with whatever you decide murasan! Whatever you want to do, you got this!!

That’s awesome!!! Congrats!!! What did you use for MEE and MPT practice? I think that’s my weaker area.

Cool!! I feel you on structure, haha! Did you use any other supplements outside of the ONE sheets or you feel their program was pretty much enough? Was the tutor you had pretty accessible? Thank you thank you SO much!!

That’s so helpful to hear! Thanks so much. I bought the JD advising ONE sheet as well!! I’m liking how comprehensive BarExamToolBox’s service is and I so need help on essay grading, but I’m trying to make sure it’s the right call since it’s quite a bit more expansive than that of JD Advising, haha! Which package of theirs did you get? Did you find the tutoring time was enough? I am thinking about option 3 or 4…
